Update download problem [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I'm doing a fresh install, and I'm experimenting some troubles with the automated updating process.

Steps I went through:
- install from disk
- launch the game menu
- click on the "check for update"
- follow through all the "next" etc buttons
- download was underway, but at the end of it, it showed the following message :
"Errors:

File 1: An error occurred when downloading information from the server."

FYI I'm using an Acer Aspire, with an i5-480M core, under Windows 7, with the AVG anti-virus (free 2012 edition).

Is there a way to download the update without going through the game menu ? If the answer is no, is there a way to correct the problem ?

If any more information on my computer is needed, feel free to ask.
