DGL SPI'79 Mod

Post by Zovs »

Okay I am no artist by any stretch of the imagination. I have been playing board war games for over 35 years and so I kind of like those kinds of graphics.

This is a long work in progress. I have cobbeled together some art work from all of the mods and modified the CSV files to my liking.

I thought I post them if anyone was either interested in them or if they could make the art work part better.

Here is a few screen shots:

1. Berlin part 1

2. Torun

3. Berlin part 2

NOTE: For these to work you have to download the fonts in the csv files. Unfortunately the file is too large to load here...lol, just my luck, oh well...

The fonts are available free online.
try searching 'dafont'.
the .ttf files are not large.
It would seem most of the changes are to the .csv files which are easily posted up.

Yes the fonts I am using are free, I just can't upload here due to file size restrictions must be the graphics making the zips too big.

Did that answer you question on fonts? Not sure what you mean by dafont.

Okay cool.

I am tweaking a bit more. I got the csv file thing down just the way I like it. Still working on tweaking the images just a little bit. Once done I'll give you a link and you can host them. Again, I am not an artist, so I am begging, borrowing and stealing from other images to make it my 'own', but if you ever played any 1970's era board war game that is the look I am striving for, makes me want to stay in the game longer, lol.

Again, I really do like this game, just want it to be really really good and I mean that in a positive light, I may come off grumpier then I anticipated, but...

  • try googling dafont
  • zip your package in parts.
  • aside from fonts, what have you actually changed?
  • feel free to beg a little harder

Mostly the csv files. I cut & pasted the graphic bits I wanted from one to the other file. MS .NET paint seems to work but it's a pain to work with, will try photoshop next.

I like your graphics but I want to tweak them a bit more then what they are.

Man using Paint screws up the images (png) royally, but it's so easy to work with. MS Paint does not, but its harder to work with and figure out. Photoshop is a really pain to work with.

I may change the PP and VP colors, but not sure which colors to use yet, thinking blue and maybe white...

I don't like the Fort icons, but I everytime I screw with it I loose my transparency, will try after I install the gimp.
