quick start games

i have a question about the quick starts.

if i select epic a bunch will it randomize everything but star quantity and research everytime or are the other options (pirates, creatures, colony prevelance, etc) always the same each time also?

are you sure about that?

the same i was playing on epic quick start when i asked this question i had only explored around 15 sectors and had run into 7 pirate factions who almost wiped me out all by themselves.

i quick started a new epic game this morning and have explored 40 sectors and haven't run into a single pirate, and have encountered only 2 other empires.

are you sure everything is set the same aside from stars and research speed?
