Only proves that some americans - I consider you one in Seattle - do not know the complete history. Please don't strife in national pride. I do it neither.
Interesting remark.
Considering this "Mega-Waste" I have to wonder why America stole the German Rockets... the German Stealth Bomber... the German composite armor... Japanese submarine aquadynamics etc. yeah these nations REALLY wasted this money with their technology advance in 10 years!
And their "Autobahn", the long straight highways that could be transformed to air fields, or their increased infrastructure projects... their new engines and the jet engine... the computer - which would have been from germany if the project wouldn't have been stopped while bombed, poor Zuse...
WHAT A FRICKING WASTE OF MONEY. And some idiots dared to steal such useless thrash and use it today... suckers.
And how much of this technology was put to use (mass production) during WWII? Aside from straight highways ... none. That means it was a waste, because it did nothing to support the war effort at the time. Great things for later on and for others--like the victors afterward.
Seriously: A dictatorship, especially with the results of damage of it in this game and considering Hitler used the military not the police, is far off. And the Boskaran policy is wrong too. They use penal colonies etc., Germans don't. Listen to Kalthaniell!
Concentration camps = penal colonies? I think so, unless you have a problem with the wording. Gestapo were police. They had power over the Wehrmacht, and used it many times in WWII. There is much more to be read it seems, on the history of WWII, no?

In any case, this is your vision and I should not discourage that. At least as a game ;)

Carry on!

Best regards,

Ares you did not understand the topic of our posts:

He said a goverment is a dystopia if at some point the situation of it turns bad...

This does not classify a goverment a dystopia, only the situation at the moment. Therefore it would apply to all goverments to be dystopic as all got bad times. Finance capitalism republic got a bad day in 1929... every military dictatorship when people rise up or a war turns bad... or communism if the state is not in a good authonomy to defy the capital market... Therefore this is just a wrong pretext.

BTT

now that you better explain your point, I do agree with your argument, indeed we shoulnt necessarily jump to judge every government by the events that transpired under their rule (either bad or good). Nevertheless you would have to also agree with the fact that certain types of governments more often then not tend to lead to certain kinds of results. (and this is not a generalization as there are plenty of exceptions)

But I can't see any way that Germany of 1937 would have not gone to war with Hitler and the Nazis in power. Now wether they could have won or not is another story.

Anyway I think it's safe to say that most people would rather loose their job in USA of 1929 and have to eat soup kitchens. Then have their family and town firebombed in Germany of 1945.

Also I predict this "AAR" will turn into a long political discussion [;)]

Germany could not mass produce their inventions, because they lost their oil reserve in africa and their own capacity at home was not enough. Their final tanks Jagdtiger etc. where never beaten in battle and got the best guns of their time. They blew them up themselves to prevent capture and use by hte enemy whenever they run out of ammo or fuel. You can't mass produce if you lack material... or industrial complexes which were bombed. Sadly Germany got enough worker. They worked jews and commies to death.
Yes you are right they used "penal areas" to terminate people. But only commies and jews. Still if you can bomb whole planets to a black dust you don't need the risk of a planet full of jews rebelling under your ass... unless you plan to nuke the planet with all inhabitants anyway. They would intern them on planet.

The only nation to really use something like a penal colony was England... called Australia.

Hmmmn,
Interesting mod in conception,I'll wait until I see the other races actually in action before offering any critique. Naturally right now I'm cheering forlornly for French victory as on general principles I'm against the evil empire incarnate.
