Looking for Allied for Reluctant Admiral

Post by vicberg »

Any takers?

If you don't know about the mod, please read up on it. Changes include Yamato's rise in the political fight over the Army, an acceleration of carrier development starting in the 30s at the expense of the economy, more focus on zero production (including armored zeroes and better guns) and a more forward deployment of japanese assets at the beginning of the war. Japanese should stay competitive, barring some Midway type disaster one way or the other, into 43.

House Rules:
- No port strikes outside of time zones (either PH or Manilla/Singapore, but not both)
- Full PP costs outside of boundaries
- No Naval 4e bombing
- No strat bombing in china until 44
- Invasions on bases only
- Sweeping and Cap one MVR band about best maneuver rating

First Turn
- A historical start, but no deep strikes into Java, Sumatra or PI with Fast TFs on first turn as allies were looking for it and would have responded
- No new TFs first turn for Allies, TFs at sea can be given orders
- No new Air Orders for Allies
- No restrictions in China

All of these negotiable. New ones may be added. Because of Christmas, it will take me a few days to get first turn done. I've started it.

PM me please if interested.

I'd be interested also, but I see you just started a game and are running an AAR already.

I'd prefer 2 day turns after the first 3-6 months of war (to allow the Japanese the flexibility to invade the DEI - kinda need 1 day turns for that).

For sweeps and cap, I'd also add an allowance of "15k max for open cockpit aircraft and P39's, 20k for everything else", and if it so happens that the "1 altitude band above best maneuver band" is below those numbers, then you get bumped up to those numbers.  I don't know the exact capabilities of every single aircraft in the game, and all their variants, so if there are other aircraft that should be limited to 15k feet - I'm open to listen.

As far as my exp - played UV, couple of those games ended early (one ended when I caught the entire betty fleet at Lae, without CAP, when I did like a 100-150 plane P39 strike at 100ft.  Game over no more LBA for the IJ).  Did WITP a couple of times.

I have a game going right now, that just hit 43, but it's been on the ropes for a long time as my opponent deals with real-life.

I'd be able to do 5 turns per week at least, occasionally more, and occasionally I may need to take an extra day for two for "big turns".
