Dennishe's AAR ( Damn the Torpedoes! ) demonstates what happends when the Allies build up Tabiteua early and focus on a Gilbert's campaign. Right now he has B-24's projcting power into the Northern Marshall's. This AAR is in September -- ours are still in July.
As illistrated below Tabiteuea has a potential maximum of a level 6 airfield and level 4 port. The 7th Air Force will move to Tabiteauea and planes now at Townsville will reposition.
The moving of the HQ is by this rule:
The air unit is located at a base and the Command level HQ that the group is assigned to is within transfer range of the air unit’s current or upgrading aircraft type and the Command HQ is located at a base with over 20,000 supplies. Supplies will be expended at the HQ base and the unit will receive damaged planes from the pool. There is no mention of a level 7 base requirement if the Command HQ is co-located. I use hope this works and it is not just an editing error of leaving off the level 7 base requirement ..[&:]
One might notice that supply has dropped below minimum let alone the 20K requirement. This resully operation is timed to be rectified with the increase to a level 4 port and mining of the harbor to prevent those pesky submarines from interdicting as they did at Cox's Bazzar.
The other logistical operation coinsides with the appearance of the 5th USAAF HQ at Brisbine and movement of 5th Bomber aircraft there .. then the air offense will continue and with the movement of SeaBeas to build bases .. the area will have to infrastructure to carry-on an air campaign .. From Cloncurry we can reach B-24 normal range right to Darwin ...
We plodding along slowly but the plan is begining to take shape ...

Strategic Update 13 JUL 42:
The strategic map below illistrates where the game it at right now.
In Burma the 10 USAAF has established at Imphal 2 B-25 groups and 3 fighter groups. Their mission is to interdict the cler terrain around Sweebo once that offense begins. The British/Commonwealth/Indian armies have a way to go to get organzed after we abandoned our futile efforts along the coast. Costing many aircraft on the ground ...[:(]
In OZ things are begining to get organzied just one hex south of Tennant Creek with in 20 or so days the 5th USAF HQ moving from Brisbine to Coucurry. Right now 3 SeaBees are working feavorishly on infrastructure there .. PM is at a happy stalemate but I am anticiapting some sort of invasion or more troops across the mountian ..
The SOPAC command has the defense of Luganville and Ndeni along with Suva and Pago Pago .. I am avodiing the Solomon's campaign unless I am forced into the situation by events.
Pacific Ocean Areas and soon 7th USAAF HQ will manage the Gilbert's and project force into the Sothern Marshall's. Once the 7th HQ is at Tabiteauea I will begin the air transfer from Townsville via Luganville ..to Tabiteauea ..
The other strategic note is the postioning of submarine assests into three patrol areas. Shorter subs patrol the Gilbert's while the Dutch and longer endurnance USN subamrines divide between Home Islands and the Truk corridor ..

You may have three AA Brigades available. There is one at Columbo and then you may get two more at Aukland. Once their TO&E fill out, they will be nasty. [:D] Use wisely. [;)]

I bought out the 6th and 77th Heavy AA [3.7" or 90mm] that belonged to the Indian III Corps they filled out and are providing some resistance at Akyab ..
The Kiwi units are at Alice Springs right now but will follow the I AUS to Daily Waters .. I suspect that the IJ will committ much to bomb my units in that one hex just before Daily Waters. Once we capture Daily Waters .. we can provide CAP. This along with 5 BF's with light flak ...

Great story. Always good to sea an Allied player fighting back from the start. You are always a couple of steps ahead of your opponent if you can determine when and where the major battles take place

Thanks Dennishe! I have to learn to do Paintshop if I am to come close to your AAR's [8D]
One other thing has been Dennishe that I have ignored his offenses instead of reacting to his moves where it does not fit into the overall plan . I set for example Tabiteuea and Tarawa very early in this little affair and it has changed the IJ's plans rather than me react to his plans ..
This turn we decided to shock the IJ at Wenchow .. he is simply bringing in more forces and supply and I think I have an opportunity to move him out of Wenchow .. I have 2:1 44K vs. 21K minus supply, leadership, and terrain . and about 100 AFV's .. I have shock .. I suspect losing something like 6K to his 4K but it changes the odds in my favor .. the Russian approach at attrition ...[;)]
This could go down as a huge blunder that loses China or a huge frustration for the IJ ...

BAKER ISLAND:
The picture below shows the latest developments. What I believe is a mini KB of 5 CVL's/CVE's is attempting to station between Pearl Harbor and Tabiteueua on the East side of Baker Island. The prizes of troops and cargo would be discouraging to the Allied cause. The Allies have this turn 2 CVTF's each with 2 CV's a total OOB of 125 fighters, 110 DB's and 15 TB. There are will within range to interdict into this plan.
We shall move to the intercept point as diagramed below and roll the dice. Godspeed ...

RE: "Such as Simple Task"
Well besides the KB and an overall superior IJN ..I always thought that PP's were the big governor of Allied operations. I am begining to understand that Base Forces and the composition of base forces are a real big factor. I just do not have enough to support operations in SOPAC & CENPAC while supporting operations in OZ also.
I have started the move of forces back slowly back toward CENPAC at a pace that allows new base forces to fill in the gaps. In just a few weeks the 5th USAAF HQ arrives in Brisbine and eventually its HB's willl transfer to Oz to support the operation there ..
In the meantime we have set up convoys to support our CENPAC operations this turn ..
The Blenheim IV's are built at 12 per month and I have lost 77 + 44 more are need in 80 days .. a little calculation shows the IJN BB bombardment mission in Burma was quite effective at slowing our operations there ..[:(] It will take a year to replace those losses ...On the other hand the 10th USAAF is slowly heading into theater and they will be stationed at Imphal & Sinchar . both level 7 bases ..[;)]

well above I documented that I-24 was smacked by a PBY and found by a DD ASW force .. we have one more tibit to add ..a ground loss of one float plane .. together this adds up to chalking up one submarine .. only a hundred or so more to go ..[:D]

It gets better .... all the ships taking supplies to and fro through PH use fuel too [;)]
I sent a huge convoy to Oz & SoPac .. when tht returns I can build up PH again .. in the meantime we are quite vulnerable to the submarines now starting to patrol my main corridor ...
Yep Ny59giants .. its logistics!
