What views do you use when you play?

I suspect, as the poll suggests, that most people use both. What might be interesting to find out instead is which they use PRIMARILY. I use both, but 3D primarily. Interesting poll, just trying to be helpful :-)

I use 2-D to check the overall map. See how far units can move and/or fire.
I mostly battle on 3-D.
I guess I would put it at around 25% 2-D and 75% 3-D. Never use the extreme views.

I assumed that primary use was implied by the poll question. I'm apparently the only vote for 2D exclusively. I do use 3D but only infrequently, when I need to check terrain a little more closely.

I use 2D to look at the entire map and 3D for the fighting.

I use 3D all the way for movement and combat. If I want to move fast I use the Fast Human Player Option in 3D.
I also like the extreme zoom out mode in 3D to see the lay of the land.

Thanks

I am with Big Ivan.

I am exclusively 3D.

Although I don't use extreme zoom that much to plan.

I usually just wing it. [8|]

Thanx!

Yeah,

I've seen the Hawk's wing attack too, I think?

At any rate what I saw wasn't for the feint of heart!

3d75% 2d 25%

I need both as playing without the 2d overview you play blind. The "daily business" goes on in 3D.

I estimate: 3d normal: 70% 2d normal: 20% 3d zoomout: 10%.

I use 2D when I want an overall picture of the battle and to fire artillery, 3D when I am close to the enemy or I want to see the cool units. [:)]

I fight in 3D and use it for most of the game. I use 2D for overall SA/analysis and sometimes to quickly move units that are out of contact.

Mostly 3D, 2D for overall picture. Used to be only 2d, but really enjoy the more miniatures look now!

2d always. During original setup on a meeting engagement, If I can not see the roads on the opponets side, I will switch to 3D. Need to know where they are entering the map.

Ditto, I voted 3D look but I play both, 3D for the visual aspect of it, 2D for the overall view.
