When to release Small Europe Campaign?

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

When to release Small Europe Campaign?

Post by doomtrader »

I have decided that the great addition to Time of Fury will be a smaller European Campaign.
Here you can see how does it looks like at the moment:
tm.asp?m=2991675

This will be released completely free of charge for every Time of Fury owner.

Creating such campaign is almost like creating new game from the scratch. We need to create the map, place all units on, prepare some scripts to handle the major historical events, etc.

The main goal is to give you the possibility to finish the game within less than a month when playing in PBEM mode.
So if you will consider that whole campaign is only 70 monthly turns long, then there is a chance for that, especially that one turn takes only couple of minutes.

I would like you to know when would you like to have the campaign released.
Please vote your opinion.

If we will assume that number one could be released on January 15th, every following one delays the scenario by 10-15 days.
So it's all up to you guys!

We can wait. Please make it the best it can be before you release it. [:)]

absolutely wait until its finished!

IMHO most of us are still plowing our way through the regular game and don't need the distraction for another few months.

I still haven't played all of the scenarios in the regular game.

The question begs a counter question.. if you released it now, would you take the feedback and re release an adjusted version essentially using us as testers? I would say if your willing to continue to modify the new scenario, release it already and we all can help you

The scenario is going to be a part of the game so there is n doubt it is going to be supported together with the game.

I say at the LEAST wait until after the 1.01 Patch i.e. concentrate on Patch and then do this. Players have enough at the moment to do - so this can wait a bit.

First option is around the patch day release, so not a chance to release it earlier ;)

While my initial reaction was I want it now, however I think the second option would be best i.e. functioning but not as yet tested or balanced.

Thus you would be releasing an early Beta for those interested who could then constructively feedback as work progressed towards the 1.0 release treating it very much as any other Beta patch.

A month or so later it can then get its full release hopefully with the benefit of the preceding open beta stage.

I'm counting on you in that matter.

The pool is closed and it looks like the winning option is to wait until the scenario will be as playable as possible.
