Tip for Newbies playing Guadalcanal Scenario

Post by SPRUANCE74 »

Be sure to have plenty of ASW escorts for damaged capital ships going to Sydney for repairs, i.e., more than 1 DD, SC, AM, etc., because numerous Jap subs are lurking off the Australia coast. I sent the BB North Carolina and CV Hornet with relatively minor damage to Sydney with ASW escort, but both were torpedoed causing major damage. Neither sunk and one Jap sub which did this was sunk, but it will take a long time in shipyard to repair these two important capital ships.
"We have met the enemy, and they is us!"

Kindest regards,

John

One could apply that thinking to any similar situation in the game, not just to the Guadacanal scenario. Always have escorts handy when accompanying damaged ships in hostile waters.
