"Into the Wild" by LP at East West Studios.

It's the Citibank commercial theme song with the rock climbers.

It's the first thing that Citibank has done right in years, finding this Pergolizzi gal.[:D]

Killer song. Was the flip side of Whiter Shade of Pale IIRC.

This one is for you Slack. Not sure if you posted this one yet? I was more of a classic rock guy then and hated where synthesized music was going. but there were some good ones out of the era, especially looking back.

From 1980 til 2001 I lived in Pasadena and Elektro-Synth/New Wave along with armies of gorgeous cheerleaders & Rose Parade beauty-queens dancing to Freakazoid on a daily basis. That scene lasted for more than 12 years became the most glorious spectacle conceivable in the history of this planet & Ive been a Techno fan ever since. God will merge Heaven & Earth at long last one day & my Butterflies will dance for me again!![:D]

Ok Slaak, you're tuggin at my heartstrings. Speaking of cheerleaders, The South's Gonna Do It Again was our school fight song and I recall very vividly our cowboy hat clad cheerleaders' delightful routine to this day. That's something that sticks with ya.

I'm gonna stay with your wonderful theme for a minute and offer another rocker from The CDB.

Great song and awesome story. I always dug the bass line.

And one more good story song before I cede the floor back to the very capable Slaakman.

Hank Williams, Jr. - I've Got Rights

It's a classic murderer of wife and son goes free vigilante justice kinda melody. And who doesn't like those?

Had to post more. Great thread.

Anyone remember the band Cry of Love? Had that gritty Southern rock sound much like a harder version of the Black Crowes. I remember thinking back then how 'old-school they sounded almost in a Free/Bad Co. kind of way. Should have gotten bigger than they did IMO, but 'Grunge' ruled the airwaves then.

Cry of Love - Peace Pipe

If you have the time and are even kind of a Guess Who fan you MUST listen to this live version of American Woman. One of my all time favorites. The guitars rock!! Be warned, it is over 14 minutes long but well worth it. The last 2 minutes is a drum solo so you can skip that part though.

and lastly while on the rock I present; (busy video but best sounding version with intro that I could find)

And SLAAK how old are you as we seem to be around the same age considering our music taste? I am 41 and was always 'old' for my age back in the rock days when most everyone else was into the 'New Wave' stuff. Now I'm just old.

God saves the worst torments for the elderly.

There is an advert on British TV at the moment for Thomson Holidays. The advert contains a beautiful song which I have just found on itunes. Can't find a video of the song, but attach a clip from the advert.

The original was by the Pixies (I believe from the film Fight Club), but this version is sung by a female; the piano and strings that accompany the vocal are simply the dogs dangly bits [&o]
