Small problem with the Chinese 18th Group Army. It has suddenly become a Command HQ when it was, and is viewed in the Scenario Editor, a Corps.

One concern for me has come up.
With the most recent patch, when I try fighters on escort I have seen no (or virtually no) advancement in defensive skill.
Air combat skill goes up fairly well, experience also slowly rises...But I have seen zippo movement in my defensive ratings.

Is this the way it should be (I am playing latest patch and as allies in Scen 2....Still Dec 1941

I had to take a week or so off my PBEM game and my JFB upgraded to the r6e patch. So I'm one rev. behind. Is there a link for prior versions of the beta patches or could somebody post it in reply?

1 request for a change and 1 request for an explanation....

1. Currently kamikaze unit fragments cannot be disbanded. To bring this in line with other air units I request that kamikaze unit fragments be allowed to disband. I can't see any reason this would unbalance anything for either side, it would just bring these units into line with the behaviour of all other air unit fragments.

2. Obsolete device conversion into armaments points etc. Could someone point me to an explanation of just what criteria need to be met for this to occur? I've got literally 1500 7.7mm and 13mm AAMGs sitting in my pool while almost all of my units have upgraded to 25mm or better AAA cannon. I'll never use those 1500 MGs but they aren't getting converted.

I'm wondering if the fact that some of my units are using the MGs still is the reason none of them will be scrapped?

Don't have one. I can live with it posted for info in case every had the problem.

Very small cosmetic change. The Base screen shows supply before fuel while the pop up of the base is fuel before supply.

After 6 months, an expired pooled device (sqd or engineer type) will slowly convert to the upgraded version; if japan, obsolete devices go back to the raw materials.

IIRC, there was some concern about changing obsolete non-squad/engineer weapons into newer ones. I can see it probably un-balancing weapon replacement numbers, but I don't see any issue with the old devices being broken back in to resource points (arm, veh, etc), even at a reduced rate to simulate wastage, for Japan.

As obsolete aircraft are scrapped, it sounded right to be able to scrap the obsolete devices.

I found out that my problem was that the game was dumping to desktop as a result of a conflict with Real Player. My guess is that this started about 2 or 3 builds ago. Regardless my game dumps randomly to desk top if I run Real Player in the background for theme music. The work around is to reload the turn and run the game sans Real Player (for background music). Once you get through that one turn (without Real Player running) you cam turn you can Real Player back on. Then play as normally. If the game dumps again, then turn Real Player off.
Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am such a special snowflake that others need my knowledge. What…there are like a billion snowflakes? Oh, well isn't that special.

WAD from day 1 of release.

Fighter pilots who participate in combat will see the biggest and most frequent increase to their experience. Following a considerable distance behind will be increases in air skill. Last at a glacial speed will be increases in defensive skill. This is because only pilots who successfully "evade" an opponent start to gain gain any basis points towards generating a single per centage point defensive skill increase.

Switch to Foobar, never had problems running that in background, who needs Real Player anyway?

Any chance to raise the Fog of War on enemy bases? I would like to get rid of the symbols aroud the flag unless I can confirm that there are ships, LCUs, planes, mines etc. at that base.

Also could the coastwatcher phase show all sightings just like search planes show all sightings on screen? Looks to me like just some ar show but the list I see in the combat report is usually much longer than what was reported in game.

BigDuke, the symbols around the flag are an amalgamation of the information that the players assets have obtained (not always from explicit messages in the reports).
