Winter in China and Burma

Post by kriegmarine »

Does the climatology affect the progress of my troops? What about supply?
October is coming and I have not very clear how it will affect winter over my troop in China and Burma. Any advice?

Here is about Burma: "The monsoon runs from May 15 to Oct 15 and is only for bases that have max draw in Burma and along the India/Burma border."

As far as climate goes, the manual covers where are the winter effects and IIRC it is the arctic condition zones. Certainly the northern Kuriles and Aleutians, for example.

As far as weather goes, AFAIK bad weather does seem to affect the movement of supplies, but I don't know by how much.

The manual should have some information on this. But be advised that the first implementation of the monsoon in Burma was wrong as it had the wrong dates. That was corrected in a patch, and the information above about it is accurate. I saved that quotation to a text file just to make sure I could look up the correct info when I need to.

My troops are in burma border, India has not been invaded, nor will they.
But in China, my campaign is in an excellent manner, and I will not spoil it by attacking the Chinese and winter affect me.

As has been discussed in other threads, weather is not really very realistically portrayed in the game. See the discussions about the impact of the monsoon season, very little, only airfields under size 5 or something like that. In a future upgrade, things might change... Winter except at the extremes of the board is a non-factor.

I can tell you ( as I have been there ) winter in N and central China is VERY severe like as bad as 41 Russia. There should be more weather rules in the game- that would also slow the pace in China esp in the North.
