Michael and I do have forum access...it is just blocked by our jobs. Michael used to be able to get some game work done at the office but that is no longer the case. Same on my end.

Having a moderator manage the forums and pass on critical information did not work.

I will post an update when Michael has something.

Tim

I'm assuming that this will be in the next couple of days or is the above our update post that was promised for this week.

Sorry for being a bit snarky but we've all been here before 6 months ago.

I do appreciate the pressures of real life but CCME was not distributed for free as a (very good) fan made mod it was sold to us as a professionally developed game.

Wow...feels like the old brush off to me. Hope I am wrong. Was hoping for a little more info than an open ended non-specific "when Michael has something" type of statement. Geez, are you freakin' kidding me?

Talk about a non-answer!

Not sure what else to post...no solution yet. Thought I was doing the correct thing by posting today...reinforcing Joe98's post that he was in contact with Mike. As soon as Mike has an update on his progress, I will post it.

Can't give you a timeline.

Sorry if I was a bit snippy. I am just concerned by the apparent lack of a plan/schedule.

I'm sure this will all get straightened out. But, in the off chance it doesn't, I don't think it would be right for Matrix to keep selling the game with the withdrawal bug. It really is a gamebreaker, and I'm not that fussy [;)]

Rather than stop selling if they can't fix it then release the code...just maybe someone else can coming at it from a fresh perspective.

I made that comment in another post. Just releasing the source under GPL or something like that with out the graphics and scenarios. You would still need to buy the full game to play. Same as the Doom3 source code and stuff. I think that would be a win-win for everyone IF Matrix wants to stop supporting the game.

Wodin,

You and JMass ought to get together and make a game. Between the two of you and your beautiful mods, there ought to be a game in there somewhere. Both you guys are definitely talented.

I'm lucky to get up in the morning and make a pot of coffee.

No I'm not talented mate, not in the slightest (I wish I was). Now if I'd drawn all my mod by hand myself I would be, however most of it was others worked tweaked or transformed in someway.

I have an idea after seeing something I like then try and fit it in and use it. Blimey the SB mods and the map enhance mod for TU was really the first time I used a paint program to be honest. I had used one once to put little flags in the corner of the counters and coverted Volcano Mans PzC unit boxes to work with SB.

This time though I was learning about colors and layers etc etc..trying to get a good colour scheme and improve it.

As for game making I have two game ideas that I'd love to make. However I need to learn how to program, so by the time I've done that and then got good enough to make the game your looking at probably 10 years away!! One game would be a WW1 Air warfare WEGO tactical game with RPG and strategy elements, the combat being similar to Darkwind (change the cars to bi planes, add a Z axis and instead of a car dashboard you have the particular planes cockpit, also the maneuvers you want your planes to pull are as successful as the pilot skill, again like darkwind). The other game is a WEGO squad level top down game with RPG elements, realistic but fun (Think Steel panthers with modern graphic engine and more RPG elements). Oh and the last game is Sims WW1 where you mamange a Coy in a SIms style but obviously alot of changes...aimed at getting real attachment to your men..then pooing yourslef when orders come inf or a trench raid or a big show)
