Those critters are probably in the 'perfect pool' of calm water...
Yer right. It wouldn't be a 'perfect pool' without some Largemouth bass in it now, would it?

No mountain folk in Helen Georgia, just fake Bavaria and a cool model railroad.
ORIGINAL: Canoerebel

Deliverance did for mountain people in the American South what Jaws did for sharks.

There are still plenty of "outsiders"  whose perception of the southern mountains is tainted by Deliverance.  Of course it was an exaggeration.  The Georgia mountain people are nothing like they were portrayed to be.

If any of you AE gents ever finds yourself in need of a great summertime outing, accept my open invitation to visit us here in northwest Georgia.  We will spend a day in the mountains swimming in one of the world's great swimming holes - the clean, clear water in the pools at Jacks River Falls.  We'll finish our hike back with IBC Root Beer chilled on ice for hours.  Then we'll finish the day with a massive feasting on "The Empire" pizza at Little Rome restaurant in Chatsworth.  If there's a better way to spend a hot summer day, I don't know what it might be.

So, y'all are invited!

That's Canoerebel at his "Sunday go to church" best. Here he is in his everyday clothes:

Forgive me, Dan... I'm pretty sure that you'll know who that is and - yes - I specifically searched for one of his photos for this thread. I became acquainted with the fellow back in my days of working for the Park Service at Kennessaw Battlefield.

There was a guy on Wheel of Fortune last night from Georgia.... He didn't look like what I thought Dan would look like at all...but I did think of him [:)]

Nope Zulu... that is what every Georgia girl dreams of having as her mate... then when things aren't quite what she dreamed of she'll throw a fit worthy of Scarlet O'Hara. Been there, done that.

Okay, after lunch I'll hunt and peck for some decent photos in reply to Zuluhour's clever post.

With respect to Vivien Leigh, she is pretty, but if you want a beautiful British lady of that era, I refer you to Margaret Lockwood.  However, the last time I mentioned Miss Lockwood it gave birth to GreyJoy's egregious "hairy" routine, so perhaps I shouldn't bring it up again.....

I hear/read that Clark Gable had incredibly bad breath. So when I see a close up smooch coming with Gable, I wonder how the actresses were able to keep a straight face and not give a little "bewitched" nose tweak when that mouth got within 6 inches of their noses.

Speaking of "Bewitched" Elizabeth Montgomery...Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
