It is one-sided because the Allied players do the turn after the Japanese players´
changes.

So he sees all Japanese changes on bases with a DL, while the Japanese player does not have this
luxury as he only sees the map before any Allied changes take place.

Long known issue. Sadly it must be buried quite deep in the code, otherwise I am sure it would
have been adressed already.
So next turn the japanese player can see all of the bases which the allied aircraft moved into!

If you have an old save where you can demonstrate moving a group in the order phase and having the icon change, please upload.
I will do screen shots if you can tell me which base to center on.

Altright, I'll try to set that up tomorow. Might not have time until next week because I'm travelling to Boston this weekend [:(]

Between the turn settings of the Allied player and the settings of the Japanese player,
there is a turn resolution phase, and 1 day time difference (if you play 1 day turns).
Between the turn settings of the Japanese player and the turn settings of the Allied player, there is not.

Allied player gets knowledge on changes by the Japanese side - which should happen simultaniously to his
own plots - , while the Japanese does not.

In general I agree with you that I can live with this if the issue exists at all, if this was what you were hinting at. [;)]

I went back to this and traced it slowly. The group move itself does not not affect the icon.

However when it builds the list of items to display (after a map draw), it is setting the AF icon for BOTH sides rather than the side being viewed.
The darkness of the color of the icon then comes into play later because the icon is active. The color of the icon is still determined by the number of visible planes. In the case of just moving a group to the base, the icon would be at the lightest since the 'visible' plane count is zero.

Rader, I don't think I need that save now.

Ports are handled similarly. If a ship in port, both sides see the base icon.

Try this EXE. It bases the icon on the sighted ship/planes at the base in the initial item display. So moving a group to another base could still show the AF icon at the old base based on the numbers sighted at resolution end turn.

This is how I believe that it should have been coded to reflect the current FOW.

The name of the file is ...Plus.exe so that it wont overwrite the current EXE. You can create a special shortcut to call this EXE. Note that is only the standard size pilot array so wont work for MP saves.

Hi michael,

so this is, indeed, an issue that you (and/or any compatriots) will try to solve?

Good luck,

The attached EXE in the above post does solve it, but it may not make it the next patch.

Wow, you are a rock star [&o] I can test this in a head to head to make sure it works, but GJ and I can't actually test it wihout the MP version (and would probably want to ata combat modificaitons too).
