A very minor comment here, but it's odd how some of your very good Aussie pilots have such poor defensive ratings. Like Livesey, T.W. who has 10 kills and 84 EXP 76 AIR but only 43 DEF? A few more there in the low 50s.
I guess he just kills everything in front of him before they have a chance to make a run from behind!
As for Rader's pilots, I'm sure they were much worse 6 moths ago during the major battles and losses in the Solomons. Some must be improving because every once in a while he gets an even result with lots of kills, and those pilots would jump into a high EXP range quickly, and probably sty alive in subsequent defensive battles more often.

Yes String, i'll need Engineers, AA and CD guns ASAP...shame on me not to have brought them with me during the invasion...
In the meanwhile i've placed 450 mines at Sadogashima and am flooding the whole area with subs.
The moon is rising...34% today...so the moment for the PTs is slowly fading away...however i've managed to put to Sadogashima 30 PTs and more DD divisions are coming from Hakkodate.
I'm now organizing a situation where i can have at least 1 strong SC TF every one of the two nights that are comprised in a turn...so to say:
SCTF 1 will rush in the first night and retire with the sunrise, TF2 will arrive ONLY on the second night and retire the following day.
During daylight only DD Divisions will be allowed to be placed there
I'm also organizing the resupply effort for Sadogashima.
LSTs will be used to bring in AAs and Engineers vehicles. Air transport and fast transports will provide the delivery of the light stuff (personell and support).
A CD gun regiment will be moved in also.
We need some bad weather over there ...i will pray the God of rain hard!
Yes Obvert...however you're not allowed to criticize them...you're harming our Propaganda effort! [:D]
I have a few questions, some for GJ, some for the peanut gallery:
1) What does the KB look like in Scen 2 at this point?
2) Have you advanced in Burma, do you threaten Sumatra and Singapore at all? Would this be a practical axis of attack to stifle oil supplies?
3) Likewise, is an incursion near Java practical?
To me conducting strategic bombing over Honshu while keeping the beachhead threat viable might mean some good gains could be had in the SE Asia/DEI region.
Cheers,
CC
Hi CC...
1) D:O:N:T:W:A:N:N:A:K:N:O:W: [:D] (it will probably scare me to death)
2) At all, all my non-restricted units (well, most of them) are being transfered to Hokkaido) and Rader is keeping a strong garrison in Burma anyway.
3) No. I concentrated everything here. Simply forget the rest of the map. I see the flaws of this approach...but the die has been cast so long ago and now it's too late to come back
I think thats not fair. Rader has the same right to ask about results he don't understand as anyone else. The Houserules they started with were quite bad for GreyJoy, but they are able to talk about them. If the nightbombing may ruins raders work far too fast, then i am pretty sure GreyJoy will accept a tuning of it.
In the end, its the fun you have while playing thats important, and even with the latest "drawback", GreyJoy (and rader) seem to have a lot of fun.
Well its not that surprising that both players come up with questions about results in the tech forum often. The ingame situation is rather new.
I agree that the house rules favor Rader but GreyJoy said its ok so nothing to complain here in my book.
Why does the KB scare you to death at this point in the game?
I realize you don't possess the CV force to stand toe to toe with it.. but it can't be like he is sailing around with a full assortment of 99 exp pilots...

Umm, it wouldn't about 2 weeks ago! Now it SHOULD be a concern. Most of the pilots Rader has been losing gobs of are not from the KB. He really hasn't been using it according to GJ's reports since the Solomons. I have a feeling it would be best to steer clear unless absolutely cornered.
Now, the Allied CVs crews would most likely have an advantage with the Radar, Hellcats and Corsairs, but GJ can't really afford to lose many CVs now. A fairly even tactical CV battle would be a strategic loss for him, strangely, at this point in my opinion.

GJ's carrier force should be fine in the roll it must play for the next few months - making sure the LOC between Hokkaido and the USA remains open. If rader ventures that far forward, any ships that are seriously damaged could well be lost due to distances and subs.
Rader will want to look for chances to use his carriers now in a major way. Something that will hurt GJ or force him to move much more slowly. A raid into NoPac or the West Coast is just about the only thing that has a chance of accomplishing that. Those are the only raids that would matter, so that's where one is going to take place.
GJ could get clever and deploy his carriers in a raid into the DEI, but that would be risky (due to LBA threat) and unlikely to contribute anything meaningful to the war effort. The carriers are of much more use in NoPac.
If I were GJ, I probably would try to cobble together a 1,000 or 1,500 AV force in the Indian Ocean that I could use to invade a tight group of islands that would give me some airbases to mess with rader. The Island groups off eastern Java or off the western side of Sumatra (Nicobars and the islands just off the Sumatran coast) would be likely targets. I wouldn't even bother covering the invasion with carriers. Count on surprise to get in before the enemy could react.

He has a massive carrier force of mixed quality ships so caution is advised. Some are pretty fragile but taken as a whole KB is pretty nasty in scen 2. Also, by now Rader has at least replaced some of the older zero squadrons with Sam's-which should pretty much best the hellcat and be slightly inferior to the corsair.

Indeed HoneyBadger .
Life is tough. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be.
because if you tested, you will know that in current A2A model,
An coordinated strike of 400 Japanese planes 200 escorts+200 torpedo bombers, will easily penetrate the Allies 1000 CAP and damage/destroy a large number of Allied carriers.
It's not hard for KB to deliver a 400 coordinated strike at all. And if they can do it from 8 hex away. You are just busted.
