Downloading patch problems

OK, first I tried downloading with Firefox (it froze in the last 41 seconds like SWARTZJ)

I switched to Internet Explorer, and it did roughly the same thing: froze in the last few seconds, and then gave me a timed out error.
I thought maybe something was interfering so I tried again, still no go, timed out error.
I tried it with IE a few more times, first changing my time-out limit to 30 minutes: no go, timed out error
Turned off all of my firewalls, anti-virus, changed my power settings to never hibernate, my screen saver to not come on for 4 hours, still nothing, timed out error.

I am at a loss, but am loath to try downloading for a fifth time (spending at least 90 minutes each time).

What the heck am I doing wrong??
