Open Beta for v1.01 starts now

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

I think we can prepare a little mod for that, but let's wait with that until the official version will be released.

Dr.. I play axis and do not get attacked, are you attacking the baltics?
That is the only thing other than not honoring the molotov pact?

It happens to me too almost every time. June'40 USSR declares on me as Germany (did so last night in the Beta as well)

Do garrison requirements enter into the calculation? I tend to place infantry corps on the border with the USSR (mainly because I now expect a surprise Russian attack sometime in 1940).

Otherwise, nothing special- no violation of the M-R pact, no violation of the Baltics (in fact, I have found in about half of my games that the USSR does not take over the Baltic states).

Now, small sample size disclaimer exists, but this is now based on 6 or 7 games, and in all but 1 I was attacked sometime between June and August 1940.

By the way, there is no alert that the USSR declared war- the only alert that I got was when I was asked to chose a policy towards conquered Soviet territory. I think at least there should be an alert that they have declared war on me.

Glad to hear it!

I like historical what ifs as much as the next guy but I don't feel comfortable with unprevoked soviet attacks in pre '41. Understandable if as freeboy said violating Molotov or attacking Baltics but if Germany is honering the pact and not threating Soviets there should be no attack. Stalin would not have attacked in '40 without a very good reason.

IMHO

Since playing the Beta I've noticed that minor countries are in the negative PP. I like to play Axis and control Slovakia and Finland. Prior to the Beta both countries made modest PP gains each turn now they are in the negative.

Is this by design?

Yep, this is by design, as the upkeep cost has been increased, we still need to balance the minor early in the game when the war economy is still relatively low.

The challenge is that losses sustained agaist Poland are not replacable prior to defeating the netherlands and France at full strength. The german Army expanded significnatly over the winter. Kind of make the game unplayable.

MikeKraemer, I'm hearing you.

However I would like to see some more comments about that. Maybe we should increase the war economy modifier at the beginning of the game little higher.

I think Germany economy is ok. I dont need more money or more units to fight against France.
Playing against AI is quite easy if I do the right things. UK asks for peace in 1941. And SU surrenders in 1943.
Currently I'm trying to play German HARD against Allies/SU NORMAL. It's challenging...

I'd recommend playing at Germany hard/Allies-SU very easy. It makes for a better challenge than leaving them at normal.

The current econmy in 1.00 seems ok at normal. In 1.01 I am unable to replace losses taken against Poland and the allied air forces are attriting my westrn front forces.

I think the upkeep cost in 1.00 are fine. I do see some issues and I'll list what I see.

1. German Infantry. I'm in a game at Aug 41 and German Infantry Is still at level 1 while Russian and Italian are level 2 and British is level 3. The Germans need to start with a higher Reseach pool so that they can get level 2 Infantry ~ 1st Qtr 1940.

2, the Russian AI likes to attack Finland ~ Nov 1939 and by July or August have a huge army and 600+ PP as they are on 100% war economy They Probably should go above 25% untill the Germans attack then grow slowly as their industry was moving to the Urals.

3. British carrier's are far too strong in range of land based air. I never realized 2 dozen bi-planes could best half the luftwaffe.

4. USA shouldn't be able to enter the war until December 41
