Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

When I order a unit with a long range anti tank gun to fire.. does it select the enemy as a target in the location I tell it to target usingthe "fire" command?

Well I rarely manually fire any unit, however when I have done it appears to be working. Though whether they actually hit anything I wouldn't know.

Someone like Rockin Harry would be able to tell you I'm sure as he loves studying the details of the system.

I just thought you'd noticed something odd.

From my understanding reading the game manual, the "fire" command directs HE fire at a location, not a particular unit. So a heavy AT unit using "fire" would lob HE shells. If something gots hit/damaged/killed should be rather random.

Not exactly. While the command to Fire is directed at a location, it will first look for any visible enemy units there. If it finds one or more it will select it will fire at one using the most appropriate type of fire. If no visible enemy it will still look for an actual enemy unit and if found will fire at it using the most appropriate type of fire.

Time for a game manual update? [:)]

If "visible" enemy unit is at Target location, is it sufficient to "aim" at this unit footprint or its edge?

If not "visible" at location (suspected enemy, without any intel clue?) would then another unit be targeted with "fire" that could be away from the intended spot at what range?

Think I used the "fire" command exactly once so far. [X(] Looks like it offers some options, like fire concentrations of multi selection groups, which can be quite useful at circumstances. Example: Have a number of AT guns at "ambush" and when enemy armor at prefered spot, multi select AT guns and concentrate their "fire" on this single unit for selected time. Definitely need to experiment with this now...[8D]

I like, I'd love the ability to set up an ambush..though I think the sale is out. Isee ambush has been added though I've yet to use it...what circumstances should it be used?
