It seems to me that those who claim that Vasa crashed into a tree where high on BPB.

And if they were indeed right about the tree you need to ask yourself who put the tree there? God of course!

It was not just the BPB head Ambrose who mentions that tree, but also Liddell Hart, Churchill and Jacques Barzun all wrote extensively about the 'tree'.
Warspite1

Of course they did - everyone knows about the Stockholm Water Tree - it's one of the seven wonders of the Nordic world for goodness sake. Well at least it was before some brittlehead crashed into the trunk and killed it [8|]
Warspite1

Orm - if I can take you out of your brittle-enhanced haze for a moment, can I ask a serious question? Did the tree survive the accident - and is it growing back - or was the remainder of the trunk removed for the safety of shipping generally?

As long as the world stands the Tree, Yggdrasil, will be there. But I still do not understand how it could be in the way of Vasa since the tree is in Uppsala and not in Stockholm.

Dude! there you go again, getting all technical and stuff. Uppsala, Stockholm - The tree is in Sweden right? Wasa sank, having hit the tree, and as Ambrose correctly identified - it was all the fault of BPB amd its devestating effect on the mind of Captain Ingmar Svensonson.

One word of advice - I think your keyboard is sticking - check out the spelling of the tree. As Ambrose identified - you know it is called Brian don't you?

ORM - YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME - TALK TO THE HAND GIRLFRIEND!

Another shining example of the havoc BPB can cause. Orm needs serious help-NOW.
Warspite1

Orm - stay with me buddy, keep away from the Peanut Brittle. Orm, Orm put the brittle down now. I have a consignment of leeches on their way to Stockholm from Stuttgart (thanks Ingo). As soon as you receive them, stick three down your boxers immediately. Then eat three a day every day for a week - you'll soon be cured - I hope......

I might add Orm should eat some Pecan Butter-it is the only known antidote to BPB haze, it does not reverse brain damage, but might help Orm see the light in TYME.

You know there are those that say Ambrose is a charlatan and a con-man; that this whole peanut brittle thing was just a way of allowing Ambrose to build a nice new extension on his house.

I've been reading Franklin's 2011 expose: Ambrose, Hero or Charlatan?

In this book Franklin argues that the events Ambrose describes in history happened- not because of Peanut Brittle - Brazilian or otherwise - but because of perfectly explainable reasons e.g. he states:

Case White was ordered because Hitler was a mindless sociopath
Britney shaved off her head because she had a breakdown
Mussolini was prone to mood swings because he contracted a rather unpleasant STD in his youth
Britain did not lose an empire because of a BPB ravaged ruling class
The T-34 was made of steel
Wasa sank because - well who knows, but the point is that peanut brittle - Brazilian or otherwise was not to blame.

But he goes further. According to Franklin he argues that Peanut Brittle is not even real. Pictures - such as the one M'Colleague Orm posted the other day are nothing more than pictures of Lasagne photo-shopped to look like Peanut Brittle. In short - its all a con.

But Franklin is not finished there. He also argues that Ambrose did not exist and gives three key questions that seemingly cannot be answered by anyone:

Where is the Parish record that shows Ambrose was actually born?
Why has the remains of the Saucy Nymphe never been found?
Who the hell calls their dog socks?

Interesting......
Warspite1

Mmmmm I am a little concerned by something I read this morning. As I was sat on the train this morning I noticed on the seat opposite an abandoned copy of Franklin's 2009 blockbuster, Ambrose: WTF??

As I have a 20 minute train journey into London I thought I would kill time by reading the book - although given the post above I was not expecting to find anything of interest - just a load more mud slinging by Franklin in a pathetic attempt at slurring a great man's name.

But what Franklin wrote shocked me to the core. The more I read the more my blood ran cold, my memory has just been sold, my angel is a centrefold....Oh sorry that was the J Geils Band....

My blood ran cold when I reached chapter 3, entitled Ambrose: You are an idiot sir!!

Franklin claims that Ambroses' entire work has been a nonsense. He has mistaken Peanut Brittle or PB for Lead (atomic symbol Pb). All his research has been one long episode of mistaken identity. The effect on humans of lead poisoning, most commonly manifesting itself in memory loss, brain damage or chronic abdominal pain are sufficient to explain all the incidents Ambrose puts down to Peanut Brittle overload.

Every time that idiot Ambrose saw the letters Pb, he put two and two together and got 765. For example: The captain of the Wasa was not under the influence of Peanut Brittle, instead - and there are many witnesses to this - just prior to sailing on that fateful day, he was seen sucking on a pencil for a very long time. This resulted in chronic lead poisoning that caused him to steer his great ship straight into Brian the tree.

There was a high lead content in the steel used to build the T-34 but these great tanks were not built of peanut brittle.

Napoleon died of posioning from the lead contained in his wallpaper - he did not develop a Peanut Brittle habit.

I don't know about youse guys, but I am starting to wonder if Ambrose was indeed a bit of tool....

What a relief. I was crestfallen.

In Gore Vidal's biography of Frankin, 2005, we read:

"Franklin, who was a college roommate of Ambrose, suffered from 52 years of professional jealousy. Starting in college, Franklin exhibited what many called paranoia over Ambrose. He was seen during the 1970's, 80's and 90's in bookstores and libraries all around the world defacing and burning Ambrose's books. In 1974 Franklin was arrested in the nation of Tuvalvu for heresy, the arrest report stated he was burning all the Ambrose books in the Greater Tuvalvu library and screaming that Peanut Brittle is a myth...". Further "Franklin spent 6 years at hard labor and re-education in the Greater Tuvalvu bed, breakfast and prison. This is said to have driven him deeper into madness and possible BPB abuse."!!

So, it looks like Franklin was deranged.

There is an endless amount of data about the hatred between the two. The extreme hatred Franklin showed toward Ambrose is even chronicled in The CIA World Factbook. The Factbook states "...and it was further posited, by senior Soviet Analyst William F. Buckley, that Franklin was, as had been suspected, a mole of the Soviet Union. Since it is a known fact that the Communist nation had fought to deny the power of Peanut Brittle and assassinate Ambrose, it is easy to understand Franklin's possible motives. Buckley wrote a report showing that Franklin had made at least half a dozen secret trips to the USSR in the 1960's where he met with Kim Philby(a know BPB addict). There was never enough evidence to charge Franklin with treason. However, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher both ordered their country's intelligence agencies to eliminate Franklin."

I didn't know that last bit - and this fact casts Franklin's death in a freak ten-pin bowling accident in a new light.

From the 2011 best selling book by Smygly-Ridz: Bowling Ball Blues

....Franklin was taking part in the Tuvalu Ten-Pin World Series and was through to the semi-final. Three players contested the first semi-final, Franklin, Brad Poindexter III and Algernon Smyth-Cummins.

They were in the last innings or leg or whatever you call it in bowling, when Smyth-Cummins appeared to create some kind of rucus with a rowdy fan. The rucus led to fisty-cuffs and soon all hell seemed to break out. Poindexter III did not get involved in the melee but was seen to stand near the bowling ball thingy. After 10 mins the fighting ceased abruptly. Distractedly, Franklin walked over to the ball holder thing and picked up the next ball in the rack. No doubt musing on the incident that had just taken place, Franklin did not notice that a fuze was sticking out of the "bowling ball" and was well alight.

Franklin walked over to the place where you bowl the ball, and as he did so, both Poindexter and Smyth-Cummins announced they needed to visit the little boys room. Thinking nothing of it, Franklin lined up to take his shot. As he was about to let go of the ball, the thing exploded, blowing Franklin and 6 spectators to kingdom come.

The coroner recorded death by accident - and censured the bowling ball alley for purchasing non-licenced bowling balls from China.

But I now wonder, reading what you said Steiner, with this book, whether Poindexter III and Smyth-Cummins were actually secret agents sent to kill Franklin.....

Mmmmmm

I use as my source CIA operative Tom Clancy, quoting from his book Hunt for the Red Franklin:Traitor at Large - "during the Tuvalu Ten-Pin World Series Franklin saw his end at the hands of suspected Soviet agents, using the names Poindexter III and Smyth-Cummins." "...and the USSR had lost patience with Franklin's failure to discredit Ambrose, so Franklin had to be terminated."

Since I have The Time I am not sure about anything at all. Except that I have The Time. Maybe a pilgrimage to the Tree can cure me from The Time. I got nothing to lose so I will go to The Tree. I will be back when The Tree has cured me.

Well personally I wouldn't worry about the tree. I mean a tree called Brian? Not exactly inspring is it? although admittedly Orm gave it a more interesting Swedish name....
