Hi/Help/Get Legends?

Hi guys, been playing the game a few weeks. (Been staying with some friends, Who have DW, And DW:ROTS)

Been Loving it tbh. Great fun, I was a big sins of a soler playing, or its right up my street.

But now I am home so I buy Legends? Dose it add much to ROTS?

But unlike my other games I was not winning even before they showed up, my strategic value alwasy sucked, even having all the rare goods in the gal. and my millitary is only second to the shaktur. no one eles close

You will have to shell out for DW AND RotS AND Legends, in order for you to be able to play with all the Legends fixes/enhancements.

That's about USD$95! Way above high street prices for any game. I can't recommend the game at that price, much as I like it.

From what I see in the screen you already have ROTS and original DW so you can just buy Legend. Only thing I would advise is updating ROTS to the latest version before installing Legends or you won't gain all the improvements.

Did you read his message? The OP clearly stated that he was playing on a friend's computer.

That statement is irrelevant, misleading and a waste of time. You gain absolutely nothing by updating RotS before you install Legends. Legends will overwrite all changes made by RotS updates.

Legends requires RotS
Rots requires DW
Thus, to play Legends, you have to buy all three - DW, RotS and Legends. That is quite clearly stated on the product page.

It is quite a pretty penny they want from a potential new customer. If you feel the price is excessive (how could you not?), you should post a message on the main forums indicating so. Perhaps the Matrix boys will address your concerns directly.

You do gain images for ion weapons from the last ROTS update. Without last ROTS patch you have a white a square instead of ion weapon images. Quit being hostile.

Yep, it does cost quite a lot indeed. But there's not so many great 4Xs around nowadays, and Elliot is listening to communitys wishes quite a lot, making the game even better over time.
I personally don't have problems with the price, but I can see the point of the financially restricted or princibled people. No offences meant.
Still, I'd recommend getting DW+RotS+Legends if you like RotS. The decision is yours in the end.

This game is very good. Is it worth THAT much? Who knows. It's priced bizarrly. But so is one of my other favorite independent games (the Dominions series, currently Dominions 3) which is far too expensive (priced in the AAA segment). I still bought it of course, because I can, but it is against my principles, which makes me .... erm forget it. I suppose if you spend $10 on a movie (or however much a movie visit costs now in the US), and spend thus $100 for 20 hours of entertainment, I bet that you might get "more" for the $100 you need to invest in DW (you WILL play it more than 20 hours. But of course that could be a bad thing, taking time away from your going out and watching movies with other humans). Anyway, J HG T is right, only you can decide if the goodness of this game is worth the steepness of the price.

The issue of the ion cannon icon is questionable, as I haven't seen any evidence to support your claim that one MUST install the RotS update to get it - that it isn't in Legends nor in any Legends update. All other improvements are - or from what I have seen - implemented in the Legends code branch.

Again, as I stated previously, I'm pointing out your errors. If you are uncomfortable with being corrected, I would advise you:
1. check your facts before committing them to a post
or
2. don't post on the forum - as they say, - heat, kitchen, stay

Currency seems to be based on IP location - mine comes from Sweden, so price is presented to me in SEK.

You mentioned a discount - and indeed there is a 20% discount on RotS and Legends if you buy them with DW... but you ONLY see the discount after you begin the purchase process. Mysteriously, it is not mentioned anywhere on the product pages for RotS nor on the Legends product page.

$96 is what I saw given the figures on their website. It's actually $85.82 with the discount and conversion - which makes it slightly less of a gouge... but for $3 more, you can get Skyrim and Batman Arkham City ... shipped to your door. I can't help but to think that Matrix's pricing policies are hurting them.

Yeah the price is high I'm from Poland and for me only Legends costs the equivalent of the price MW2 had on it's polish release day. (Actually 5$ less now that I checked)

Coming back to the update, perhaps they added it to 1.7.0.10 (shouldn't it be 1.7.1.0? strange numbering convention) but before that it was true. If you want proof you can check the video AAR by idjester where he does have the white square instead of the ion weapons image.

PS. Sorry about that earlier personal comment. I get easily pissed off sometimes. It's silly, I know.
