Bridges/Mods?

Post by Grimnirsson »

Hi all,

is there a way to get more recognizable symbols for bridges? Or at least destroyed bridges? I know that when a bridge is destroyed there's a tiny red dot with a separated line or rather I *think* that's the way a destroyed bridge is portrayed but it's only visible when using the huge map/icons and even then it's hard to see. Are there any mods that give you easy to see bridge status icons?

Generally I'm a bit lost what mods are out there and which of them are recommended. Any advice is appreciated [:)]

Thank you!

Yep, I came across that thread before but as I said, I'm a bit lost regarding the mods for this game. I don't know if I can just take the damaged bridges icons from that mod or do I have to use everything? There's no instruction how to install it. In the altgfx folder of TOAW3 there are several zip files, I am not sure why that is so. Do I have to unzip them? What do they do? And since I'm using the latest major patch and I'm quite satisfied with the gfx in the scenarios so far I don't know if this mod is actually designed for the latest update of the game. Is there a safe way to install a large mod like that mentioned in the thread without having it overwrite everything? Some say they got their game messed up after installing that and I want to avoid that. Sorry for the hassle, but I'm not used to this mod-stuff, I'm a board wargamer by heart [;)]

You have to experiment; there's no ideal solution for customization. I recommend the following -
