Is it possible to hack a human vs human game

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Is it possible to hack a human vs human game

Post by zxr8421 »

I wake up this morning and got a mail from my opponent whose game just entered turn 3.
"Sorry I will not continue playing with you.......I discussed with XXXX (my another opponent) you have 7,1 million in April after lost 3,5. I dont want to play tjhinking whether it is broken engine of last patch or cheating. "[&:]

Ok, I was shocked, only thing I could say is it is just childish behaivor, but it is fine anyway.

My Moscow was untouched, Len and Donbass were kept until 41 snow turns and I kept 350 arm factory! why shouldn't I have 7 million sov after a 5 months break?

Well, but the point is not that I didn't cheat, I know that for sure [:)]. It makes me think is it actually possible to somehow hack a human vs human game? Btw, that game was a server game.

I known save/load is possible, and also you could setup unbalance game just wait some careless guy take it[:D]. But there is any chance someone could do more than that on server game or even a mail game?

If anyone has reported such case and got confirmed, it worth to share the information. If matrix games could assure us that can't be done, also very helpful, it saves a lot people's time from wondering.

"Imposible is nothing" but 7 millions with a mere 3.5 casualties is a normal number . Take as a example RE: 1.04 The Wolf and the Bear (no Gids) - post 159 add losses + OOB and you are in the "magic" 10 millions numbers

It's within the realm of possibility. Would probably require very light blizzard losses. Also will depend on how aggressive you are with disbands. There's plenty of fat to trim in the Red Army, and if you don't trim it, it will look bigger than it really is.

A 7 million man Red Army can still be slapped around by an Axis player who knows what he is doing in 1942. Its efficiency will be very low and indeed in some respects at its bottom during that year.

I think there is another possibility here my Friend; that you opponent is not happy with the way his game is going, and/or his playing ability. So he has clutched at some excuses, to get out of his pbem match with you. It wouldn't be the first time, and they normally just disappear off the face of the world.

I would suggest that you shouldn't be too shocked at his cheating excuse, as I think you are just above his WitE gaming experience level. You are lucky to find this out at only turn 3, and not later in the game. So I suggest you move on, and get another opponent, hopefully a better and more committed one.

it's not normal.

you should have more than 7.5M men in the field by april if you only lost 3.5M in 1941.
