RE: THE THREAD!!!
Gentlemen...and lady....
My wife leans over to me in church yesterday and says 'Find me a book about that.' Well 'that' happened to be an illustration using the evac at Dunkirk. I barely controlled a guffaw and bouncing my chin off the floor.
But I nonetheless am in need of your erudite help. I need a good book on Dunkirk that isn't too 'historian' and more 'accurate narrative'.
And long lost tithe......
Sorry this is but a drive by. I'm am far too busy with my new job to post much unfortunately.

You could do worse than Dunkirk by Hugh Sebag Montefiore - excellent book.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Dear Sir,
Well, I guess it's better than 'sucka'.
What's all this then? It's going to be a good day!Re: Transfer of US$950,000.00 to your bank account.
This is to officially inform you that our office has been delegated by the
United Nations to seek out and pay compensations to several scammed
victims worldwide.
Lucky me!
Our investigations shows that you have been going through hard times and
has paid a lot of money to some dubious persons for the transfer of your
funds in the past.
Absolutely! Gosh, your investigations shows (sic) that? I'm truly impressed about the UN's investigational tools! [&o]
Score! Now to work on my resignation letter!Your have therefore been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the
compensation programme and awarded the sum of US$950,000.00 as
compensation benefits in accordance with the United Nations
recommendations.
(Psst...hey guys...pretend I didn't post this here OK? You can keep a secret, can't you?We therefore advice that you stop further communication with any
correspondence outside this office because you do not have to pay any
money or fee to receive your funds.
For the immediate payment of your US$950,000.00 compensation benefits with
reference number UNCF/12-311ZK, kindly contact today by email or
telephone, our Payment Coordinator in the United Kingdom:
Mrs. Michelle V. Hodson
Suite 98, No.3 Whitehall Court, London SW1A 2EL-UK.

I guess I shouldn't ask why Mrs. Hodson doesn't have a UN title? No matter. I'm off to collect my bounty, or my name isn't Steven Mike Terminus.

I've got a dirty little secret. No, not that one. The one where I confess that I've been really enjoying "Downton Abbey" second season.

Hi all,
Almost unbelievable... it is -1 degrees Centigrade and blue skies with sun... almost 14 days of snow are finally behind us although mornings are still -15 degrees Centigrade and all the snow that has fallen is not melting yet (around 30-50 cm of it in my town)...
