Great result CM! Here's hoping your BBs escape without too much retribution!
It's been a long AAR so I can't remember all the results you have on LYB capital ships sunk. Could you post a screenshot of the Intel screen on sunk IJN warships, at least CV/BB/CA types?
You havent seent he good part yet. [:)] The ball is still arcing upward. Can definitely post some intel screens when I get home..or perhaps Admiral Lord Sprior can if he hasn't had to much Chateau de Whatever.

That was before today's battles. I think these reports lie like hairy dogs.

Kaga was in the fight today as was Nagato

RE: With the Wren Detachment
Given that your Nov 27-28 results show engagements with Nagato and Kaga which are listed on the intel reports as already sunk, your suspicions are confirmed. The question is:
- do the latest combat reports misidentify the ships and you really hit Mutsu and Akagi??
- or were the ships reported sunk previously actually Mutsu and Akagi misidentified as Nagato and Kaga??
- or [more likely] were the intel weenies guilty of wishful thinking in previous estimates of enemy losses?

I think we have sunk Nagato at least 3-4 times. One of these times it will be true.

RE: With the Wren Detachment
Based on carrier plane "ground losses", I deem it highly likely that Kaga or Akagi was sunk on or around 10-4-42 and that the sister ship is not feeling so good right now.

RE: With the Wren Detachment
Now we have to get the ground forces resupplied and then pull back the capital units for the Darwin op.

This recent business started as an attempt to "show the carriers". Do you think they spotted them?

until now...that is four torps now.
And this last one is a proper grown up f***-off torpedo, not one of those pansy air dropped ones.

Mandrake, I noticed that 9 Zeroes and Kates went down on the ground. Do you think that was a CVE or CVL going under?

Hard to know as the Jap strike was already airborne. They might have been damaged planes left in the hanger from previous day's activity. There have also been some Zeroes caught on the ground at PH.
Mouseover shows very large numbers of planes on the ground at PH and Broome. These likely represent carrier aircraft diverted after their decks were afire.
