TimeofFury.exe Stopped working

Have 4 versions of the game on the HDD, ToF 1.0, Tof 1.0 Reality Mod, ToF 1.01b, Tof 1.01b Reality Mod, they have all been working well with no crashes. Now they all fail after the 'Country Selection' screen in starting the game, with the 'TimeofFury.exe stopped working' warning and CTD.

I have uninstalled the game and reloaded a fresh ToF 1.0 unmodded game, removed all previous saves, but I still get the same failure. Installed again to a new file ToF 2, still same fault.

Something in my system has changed, updates, disc cleanup, etc., any idea why the game should fail to continue to load after the 'Country' screen, so that I might have some idea where to look for the fault.[&:]

Yes, those items were OK, but all versions of the game are up and running again. I suspected Nvidia graphics drivers although the system told me drivers were up to date, why did I believe it, ToF was the only software that had a problem, so I thought it must be the game.

Manually updated graphics driver and all versions are now working again, which is a great relief.

ToF is making high demands on the system, the fan is going full speed all the time the game is playing and temps are up into the 80s, it will be interesting to see if the latest drivers can handle the load better. [:)]

each of those tiny hexes is refreshed in real time, so as soon as you will zoom out your gfx has got a lot to do.

I am using a laptop to play and with the map and unit options it is a nice looking game to play, which is why I was so relieved when I got the familiar map screen back, needed a fix of world domination. [:)]
