Crash on startup - tried many fixes

Hi all,

My DW crashes at start up, does not matter if it's vanilla or with one or both xpacs. I have tried all the fixes in volving .net 3.5 reinstal etc

Just a little tired of fumbling around, I have probably spent 3 hours over the last two days installing reinstalling restarting etc.

This is what happens when I click "Play Distant Worlds" with just vanilla install. Noy sure if that is helpful or not but I'll start with that in the hopes that someone responds,

I am currently using windows7, quad core 2.7ghz, radeon 5850 vid card
Hope that helps, I'm kinda worried all my messing around may have broke other things, lol

Maybe there is something about the order you install the game and its upgrades. Care to tell us?
