PBEM problems

Post by Empire101 »

My opponent has informed me of a serious issue with our campaign game. He has loaded the current combat report file ( wpae001.pws ) and at the point of the Japanese bombarding a base in Sumatra/ Java, the game kept crashing at this same point.

After several attempts he decided to reinstall the game ( we are currently using ver 1.0.6.1108r6 ) with the aforementioned patch.

Now he gets a Failed to load error msg, and can't even get the combat report to even think about running.

Is there anyway out of this mess?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you both using the MP version?
If your opponent doesn't and you do, then he wont be able to load the save.

Only reason I could think of for failure to load save (apart from file corruption).

Hello

The MP version of the exe have more "space" for pilots. As far as I know thats the only difference.

It seems that with the normal exe there is a chance that all slots for pilots are used so you cant create more pilots.

You can find the mp version:

fb.asp?m=2859420

You can load games from the non mp version with the mp version but not reverse
ORIGINAL: michaelm

The MP is an non-official version.
You can use the MP from the R9 beta as the 'official' version as it is based on the same code as the standard R9.

Hope it helps

Now I'm really confused....is the MP version of the exe not included in the patch 1.0.6.1108r6? The thing is we are both using r6, but where is this MP version?

What patch do I need to download to get the MP version?

If I download the official 1.0.6.1108r9 patch, does that have the MP version in it?

File corruption was the problem, something neither of us had considered, and after going round and round in circles chasing our own tails, and trying all sorts of different things, the answer was there all along.......
