It's been 6 months now...

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Hi Kweniston,

We are actually discussing the issues and the update timing now. I'll get back to you on this ASAP once I discuss with Steve.

Regards,

- Erik

This must be a heck of long discussion then [:)]

Actually, it's really not funny at all. The silence from Matrix on the "Bridge" and "Crash" issue is deafening. The grand campaign is unplayable. Some positive feedback would be appreciated.

The silence is from Matrix is bad as well as not giving some infos why it took so long to make purchase with a long campaign playable. My motivation to start a new GC is not there as long as there is no more real communication between matrix, whoever develops the games and us, the customers which had paid for the re-releases. I'm not real angry but will hesitate to buy things from Matrix anymore.

The main reason for a forum here should be to get recent infos as well as to allow us to communicate. Is it really all a NDA issue? Seems worse then copyright and copyleft issues :D

bernd.. the reason is no one gives a stuff!

the guy running the show is a fruitcake and is quoted as saying "the people that really matter are happy, Matrixgames"

The only people left with passion are tejszd because of the meuse mod and cathartes with GJS.

Everyone else has just been burned by a mangement that just doesn't care about the product or the people.

Thanks for the answer. What really is sad is that the rest, tejszd and cathartes, can't simply choose to take the remaining stuff and make it somehow 'open-source' so that it would get a chance to get fixed. To many NDA, copyrights etc. My hopes are that the sources are shared along a couple of people so that regardless how this ends with matrix there's still hope to somehow survive.

And I still like that you give some info about the whole mess!

Hi guys,

We are not ignoring this, but there are more things to discuss and plan behind the scenes than I can discuss here. I apologize for the delay, but these issues will be fixed.

This is neither constructive or informed.

Just in case anyone is in doubt, the above is Andrew's opinion and not fact.

Thanks for the info guys, but we do get very little factual updates here. The real -blatant- fact is that LSA is in a pretty bugged/bogged state at the moment, and the longer it stays that way the worse the publicity gets. I think the people here have been pretty patient so far... that's because they love the game so much. And there is still more to be had in the CC series, but LSA will be the touchstone the CC community will judge Matrix by (let alone other Matrix' publications).

I keep my fingers crossed! Thanks in advance for fixing the issues! Would be nice if we hear some sort of timeframe soon.

Updates required for

LSA
tLD
WaR
CCMT
CoI

Mostly as a result of the (not so) recent mega-patch

Are there plans to test any patches before release this time?

If not then the programmer's law of unintended consequences all but guarantees that patching bugs in creaky old code will inadvertently create new ones.

I'm so glad I read this thread; I was about to buy this game after enjoying TLD so much but I think I'll pass.

I trust that this is going to get worked out- maybe not as soon as we all would like-but it will get done. Visually, the game is a gem-best looking of the series! And I think the mod's I keep reading about (GJS in particular) will make me very happy to have made the purchase once things are all worked out.

You have at least the opportunity to (maybe) buy a working game...

"I think i will by the new car model...but i must wait a year so that all the others buys it and make the tests that should have been done in the factory"
