THE THREAD!!!

Am having trouble finding interesting side side dishes for things like a Paprikosh, or even a decent Stroganoff. I have some strongly flavored, sharp, veggies like spinaches and such, to go with the spicey tang of the main dish, but would like something milder (like a bok choi) that highlights the sweetness of the Hungarian paprika and the egg noodles.

Any you folks out there with some homey recipes like that, I would love to hear from you. PM me if you don't think it's a THREAD kinda thing.

That's quite alright, Leo. Termie had a nice thought with cucumbers; thinking about skinning them, slice them thin, and let 'em soak in lemon juice and dill; put a dollop of sour cream in there just prior to serving it. Woof !! That's the kinda stuff I'm looking for !!!! Anything (Eastern Euro/Slavish) similar would really float the boat.

Leo, if you have a mate that does this kinda stuff then you are well and truly blessed.
