pbem don't load after reinstalling.

Post by ARIS »

I've reinstalled the 4.5 version of the game. But now all my pbem games (which were created with the 4.5) just don't load (player 1 security installation problem or something like that). Any solutions?

Also, from the moment I installed win2k, the game doesn't use the maximum refresh rate that my monitor supports.

Aris,

If I understand things correctly - the game looks for the date and time of the OOBs being used. So, if in the update those changed - you have a problem. The solution may be to get the old OOBs and put them in temporarily until you finish the PBEM games. If your opponent hasn't upgraded - he should have them and could send them to you - if you let me know which countrys are involved I'll get the OOB numbers for you.

The old OOB's were overwritten by the new ones. Now, both oobs are the same. Only the installation date differs.

That is enough to make the program think you have been fiddling with things and won't let you play.

You have to play pbem games from the same install start to finnish when in secure mode...one of the proces of security.

You can always play in hotseat mode and just save the file and exchange. There is no security, but then you never get locked out either...
