Link/Zone data differ?

Post by foliveti »

I just started a new PBEM game with an opponent. When I open the replay or the gamesave file from him, I receive the message Link/Zone data differ. It then asks whether I want to continue.

What is causing this message? Will it cause problems with the game? I believe we are both updated to the most recent public patch. I have another game going using the extended map and use the mod enabler to switch back and forth. If I forget to make the switch I receive an error message that the hex data do not match.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds like a pwhex files problem. In WITP there was one "pwhex.dat" file. In AE there is a group of three files that serve that purpose. In AE they are in the main folder and they are named:

- pwhexe.dat
- pwzlink.dat
- pwzone.dat

It sounds like either you or your opponent somehow crossed the beams.

I am guessing that I am the culprit since I am using differnt map versions for different games. I should probably install a separate folder for the different games.
