Troop transportain by C-47 bug, please read !

Post by Oliver Heindorf »

I have a a missing Base Engeneer unit, here is the story :

The 114th Base Engeneers are located at Charter Towers in my game.

A Sub unit of them, the 1/114th Base ENG is located at Lae.

Since I dont need the main 114th Base ENG Unit located in Charter Towers, I decided to move them by C-47's to Cooktown and then up to New Guinea. I told all my C-47 Squads based at Charter Towers to load troops and to fly them to Cooktown.

I had five C-47 Squads at Charter Towers and assinged the same mission to all of them.

The text shown below the main screen confirmed that my transports doing this.

But instead finding parts of the 114th Base ENG's either at Charter Towers or at Cooktown, they appeared in the reinforcements Shedule in seven days in Brisbane ! :(

Matrix please help, does this mean I cannot move troops by plane anymore.

Thank you

I think this bug has been reported before. The workaround, as I understand it, is to transport *most* but not all of the unit by air. Transport the last "bit" of the unit by ship.

I know that's not a very satisfactory answer. Matrix, this is a known bug, right?

I always move the 114th to New Guinea, as well. My approach is usually to march them to Cairns and transport them by ship, because the 114th's radar equipment won't fit on a C-47. An alternative is to fly the unit to where you want it then follow up with the radar set on a transport. The bug doesn't crop up in either of these approaches, and you don't get the weird split up into sub-units (seems that the air engineers climb on first and the support troops get on last, so you wind up with your aircraft service guys at the destination with a severe support shortage if you don't transport them all in a continuous series of C-47 lifts).
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

I've experienced this same bug myself and it is on the list.
