Carrier planes disappear

Post by Long Lance »

Hi folks,

I modified the WitP Scenario and played for the Japanese until early 43. Auto victory is achieved, but I'd like to go on to take out Calcutta and Karachi. But one thing makles the party stop for me: Suddenly, all Airgroups on Akagi (or Kaga?) vanish, only one which I transferred from Hosho at the start of the game stays aboard. If I reload and fly off the Hosho AG, noting changes. What's going on there? The AGs are simply gone, not in the reinforcement pool, not rebased to elsewhere, just gone.[&:]

Hi,

Could it be connected to the change in air group size for the Japanese carriers? I believe it should happen on the 1st of July 1942 so it's seems a bit late for it.
It's mentioned in chapter 19.4.1 in the manual.
I believe it's been mentioned in the forums before that rebasing air groups on carriers can lead to problems. Maybe that had to do with the replacement groups on Allied CVEs.

That's my guess too. But it happens also after the Hosho AG is flown off the Carrier. Anyway, thanks for your answer!
