failure to load error

Help! I'm playing PBEM with vontiger and it's about 1/30/42. I saved the combat replay he sent and it worked fine, until nearly the end where it went to warp speed, finished then exited the game altogether. I had also saved the turn he sent but when I tried to load it I got a "failure to load" error. I tried saving it again from his e-mail and loading it but it was the same story. I've asked him to resend it in the hopes it was damaged in transmission. I also asked him if he downloaded an update to the beta version we've been using which is recent but I've seen patches to it available as well as the new official version. In my experience (which is limited) I've found updating mid-game to be a no-no. He has not had time to respond and probably won't for a while as he's at work in Brisbane. Just hoping someone knows anything I should try. Bless you for any help.

vontiger sent me the file again, and it works. Never mind.
