LoL, the TBD isn't flyable in the stock game, but a couple VERY easy mods bring the TBD, Ki-45, and Hs-123 into the realm of flyable aircraft. Even more fun then not getting killed in a TBD is trying to hit something with those early MK.XIII torpedoes with realistic ords turned on. Gives me even more respect for those poor courageous souls who flew on Torpedo 8's Midway mission!!! <S>

Those who are defeated in commerce are doomed to military service [:D]

the only way to survive the torpedo 8 mission "Slaughter of the Lambs" (in Aces of the Pacific)
was to keep your TBD's flaps raised on takeoff and dunk into the ocean.. oops it was an accident [;)]

then you spend 3 months in a hospital but you survive at least [:'(]

You got me. [8D]

Latest version of HOIII is a nice diversion from WitP, although I would never play it multiplayer. And Bethseda is simply the best world builder company there is. What they achieve
in architecture alone is really good stuff. Thats why I love the Elderscrolls series, this and the open gameplay.

The visible rest is to the right Test Drive Unlimited 2 (blah, not sure why it is still on my HDD) and top left the FSX Water Configurator, nice freeware tool.

For the Pacific War fanboys and girls here, we're opening a server with some pacific missions this week, now that a friend of mine finally got the dedicated server software to work. [8D] Missions will be semi/pseudohistorical and made by myself. Difficulty settings will lean to the more realistic/difficult end but will have some things let on such as speedbar for those used to metrics flying USN machines, navigation helps etc. [;)] Server will use the version 4.11, and thus does not require additional game modifications(unlike the Zeke vs. Wildcats) and includes the new bomb/torpedo fusing and arming stuff as well as new engine and heat management.

Stay tuned on! Early on we'll probably have just a couple of early/mid war missions running, and a lot depends on how many players the server will get. East Front is my personal favorite but what missions actually end up in the rotation is up to the server owner.

I used to play 1942: the Pacific Air war a lot, though it must be nearly twenty years old now. Pilot careers, carrier battles, Guadalcanal, what else could one want? Way ahead of its time.

I did most of my flight simming time on Aces of the Pacific and Aces over Europe. They were very good games for their times, well representing the differences between the major airframes. Unfortunately they served me poorly when i gradudated to the Next Generation (European Air War for one) and tried some of the same "tricks" i used to get away with using those older programs. A big part of why i ended up Lawn Darting so much. It also didn't help that i always put the simm on the 'most realistic' flight model........which did not match well with my own "realistic" flight experience.

86'd out of the Luftwaffe, RAF and USAAF all in one day.
