My command line looks like this:

"E:\Games\War In The Pacific AE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1680 -py1050 -deepColor

I think I recall reading somewhere that if the X:Y ratio is wrong then you're not going to get it working properly.

This is true. Spaces and lack thereof on the command line also need to be correct.

Don't forget -skipVideo

And don't copy paste from the info file.  It has the wrong "-" character imbeded and that will cause the command line to fail.

My mom's computer refused to boot past the POST screen yesterday. I went into setup and found that the BIOS had reset the date to January 1st, 2002. Much weirdness.

If the computer is a little older, the battery for storing the BIOS settings may be running out.
