v4.5 "vid998.smk" Problem

Post by Paul »

I recently received a v4.5 SPWaW CD from an on-line friend, but have been unable to install it on my PC. After installing about 60% of the files, the installation gets "hung up" on file "vid998.smk", and after a few minutes requests "Disk #2" to complete the installation. Problem is that there is no "Disk #2".

I am about ready to plug HAL into the 220v receptacle in the basement and end my never-ending battles with the PC. I never had all these problems with SPI and A/H boardgames.

Ahhhh, for the good old days of Terrible Swift Sword and Highway to the Reich. Never a download problem and patches were printed on sheets of paper called Errata.

Right, Mindspy, and the only "crash" was the sound of the dice hitting the table ;-)

THe disk 2 error simply means that for one reaosn or another, the install routine is looking for a file that it can't find. This can be caused by CD problems.
