More clear minimap Mod

Post by welk »

I discovered the game this day (Thanks to Doom [:)] ) and I have to say it's a great PC wargame, I will try to mod it as I did for Commander Europe at War. The system is very funny and I love the large big map, it's the first time I may deploy all my panzer div. on a large scale in Europe [:D]

At this time, I am learning on Slitherine and Matrix forum, to take some lessons of "ToF modding" (I saw some excellent works, by specialists[8D]) and I will do my own graph mod in some days.

But here is my first (and very little [:D] ) contribution : a more clear minimap (you have just to download it and to copy it in the directory of the scenario you want to play.

My goal in ToF modding will be to give the game a look of classical wargame, with "pastel" colors. I will also modify 2 or 3 things in the interface buttons, etc : I want the player have the exact impression to play a good old "board-wagame".

In addition, I think that my boss and my wife will be hungry against Doom, because now, my nights are for ToF, not for sleeping [>:][:'(]

Hello, Agent S. For my work, I will start from your TOW map/unit mod, that it is included in the game : it's the mod that is the more close of a "classic wargame look". My goal will be to keep hex grid but to avoid a too high "hexagon effect", and pastel colors will be good for that, I think. On other of my "obsessions" wille be to give "all awailable space on map" for map (I will modify the look of interface buttons, that are a little too large in my opinion (I will reduce only buttons, but "space buttons" for mouse will stay in place, that is the essential thing). The only thing I do not very love in modding for this game is all the "txt color parts" and "position icons, text parts"etc, it seems a little complicated to work on (long work in lot of little code lines, not for me[:-], I am more interrested by graph mods.
