automatic resource/Oil movement - primary roads

Hello all,
I'm wondering how well resources and Oil move by Major road (if at all)
I know they flow via rail, but I'm wondering of it happens through major roads as well...

Quick answer - yes.

It will flow over any hex as long as a valid supply path can be created between two bases.

It can be slow, but it will eventually get there.

Do you have any idea as to the rates and details of resource movement? the manual really doesn't have much and people are being a little reluctant (if they have it) to part with such details...
