River hex question

Post by major.pain »

Just registered on the forums after being a guest for some time reading through AARs ect to ask a question about how combat is affected defending/attacing from a river hex.
I have played a fair amount of advanced tactics and in that game (another GG by the way)the rivers are along the edges of the hex and so divide each hex but in OPART they run through the hex. For example, i have troops in a river hex and am attacked by a ground force would the attacker recieve penalties as they would be attacking into/over a river hex?
Would i recieve penalties for attacking from a river hex even though in this example my attack launching from the river hex would enter battle in the adjacent hex without the river?
I have read a lot on the forums and in the various guides ect as there is a lot to learn for sure but this info i have missed, thanks.

Attacking from a river hex results in a .75 combat reduction. There is no effect to a unit attacking into a river hex.
