counter information?

Hi guys, I have one question (couldnt find it in the manual, or in the AAR-s I read so far)

Why is the main number on counters (presumably combat strength) different in zoomed in and zoomed out mode? Do those numbers represent different things, or am I missing something?

Sorry for the noob question, and/or laziness if this is explained somewhere, but this is my first operational strategy game (a great one btw, really enjoying myself)

I just started on the game myself and would love an explanation of the counter symbols and that tiny box that tends to turn red, etc. Vic has a great, informative site for Advanced Tactics series, but the manual on this one was very light on the details. Probably not the easiest game to start off with, but it is one of the best.

You're not the only one who has asked this question (I've asked it myself), so don't feel bad. As far as I know its never been answered. Fortunately it isn't a "show stopper", and you can certainly enjoy the game even with the changing strength numbers.

I'm pretty sure the small colored box on the unit counter reflects supply state.

Green - Full
Yellow - Partial
Red - Out of supply

I think supply level degrades over distance from your supply source. The Supply section in the manual does a fairly good job explaining supply.

Yes, it's pretty intuitive overall; I'll bet my far-forward units get a red box. Got to get back to the game and see. Thanks for the info. If I have other questions, I will ask [:)]
