Things are starting to heat up in our game.

Japan has taken Java, in preparation for their Australian invasion, while their units continue to prep for Darwin. Rabaul has fallen. The day after the fall of Rabaul, I put area CAs and CLs together with a handful of DDs together for a night run at the AF there. They went in the next night, and ran into the Mutsu and another battleship surface group, and put a few hits in her (nothing major I would assume) The Lousiville took the most damage and came away on fire. Turn is back, so we can look at the damage. Never got a chance to hit the AF. Wanted to knock out as many planes on the ground as possible, as they do have some Betties there now. Lousiville has performed well in all of her engagements in the Solomons to date so far... kind of curious to follow her and update our readers on her if they wish.... nothing special…. but kind of fun.

We can still keep tabs on their carrier fleet for the most part, as they're pretty active in the DEI at the moment.

Some sub attacks here and there.. with a few transports sunk on both sides.

He continues to pound Port Blair, which Harvey tells us is a good indicator of an attack on India down the road..

They haven't probed our perimeter past Rabual at ALL to date.. which Harvey mentioned is one more indicator that India could be their main target...or else they would be securing their flank around Noumea and Efate.. if they planned on a huge push to take all of Australia..

US Carriers are a day or so out of Auz for fuel. They were in route to Rabaul to smash the battlewagons that lacked air cover.. but they were a day away when Rabaul fell.. so they will return to Auz for fuel, instead of Harvey’s AOs…not worth having them that close… Buffaloes just increase the skills of all Jap pilots.. nothing else.

Tahiti/Pago Pago/Suva will continue to build up.

Pearl Harbor and the West Coast sending land units/planes/supply/fuel to SoPac and Auz as fast as possible with the shipping available.

Will post replays and information tonight, along with some screenshots.

As I play Imperial Japan most of the time, I would advise you to be wary of Japanese intentions.

I try to push hard in all directions early on to attempt to keep the Allies off balance, whilst ensuring all of Yamamoto's original key objectives are taken.

In my opinion, Australia is a dead end as far as Japan's long term strategy goes, and it could really be a feint in your game. If they go for Australia they are doomed.

Far more deadly is a Japanese occupation of Port Moresby coupled with invasions of Luganville, Fiji, Samoa etc, to slowly strangle Australia as a viable launch pad when the time comes.

The Burma/India gambit is far more 'doable', and far more deadly to the Allies long term plans.
What is the situation in China??
I generally go all out early on for China. The benefits are obvious.

Hope to get around to doing a more thorough update this weekend. New job, new GF, and playoffs for the rec hockey teams I play on have seriously cut into game and free time.

The Japanese juggernaut is smoking through the eastern DEI, bypassing Ambon to take Koepang in a single turn with the 4th Division. It was a turn away from fort level 2. Obviously they are going hard for NW Australia, so Darwin will be the next target. They are now securing NW Borneo as well, with Sinkawang secure and Kuching soon to follow. All non essential shipping has been evacuated from the DEI with small staging bases at Cocos Island and Port Hedland with support ships, supplies, and fuel to facilitate the withdrawl. The PoW at 47 sys damage and Repulse at 22 sys damage are making the trip to Capetown for repairs, having left Soerbaja this past turn. The 1st group of the AVG has upgraded to P-40Es and is regenerating at Calcutta. Jeff has moved some B-17 units to Calcutta and they are training and regenerating in preparation to defend India or support the defense of Burma.

Not enough British ans Indian assets to really defend much of India, and fully expect any invasion to come well before the amphib bonus expires. Focusing efforts to defend Bombay and Karachi. Delay elsewhere as much as possible without wasting any significant AV. Jamming supply into Bombay as fast s I can, as well as converging eng units to help build the forts. All the reinforcements for Burma and III Indian Corps have been diverted to Bombay.

They are bombing Pt Blair, ground attack, every turn and expect an airborne assault in the next few turns. All indications are a big push to India and western Australia. Once Pt Blair is taken, will have to probably rebase the RN to Bombay at some point as Colombo will be exposed.

Not a lot of small invasions, but strong focused efforts well supported by carriers and surface assets. With half the KB covering the landings in the DEI, it is nigh impossible to do anything. Tried a couple of pushes but lost aircraft and achieved zip. Just have to be patient and wait for an opportunity.

No movement in NG and the Solomons beyond Rabaul and Madang.

Rabaul now has Zeroes and Betties, so there may be some movement in the coming turns. So far with all thier CV assets in the DEI (I mean ALL), he has made do with LBA and surface action groups. They know we are lurking so they have not ventured beyond Rabaul so far.

Whatever they have in mind, they will not do it willy nilly but massed, focused and well supported. A real hammer blow.

What is the situation in China??
I generally go all out early on for China. The benefits are obvious.

China to date is moving slow. I, also, as a Japan player, try to move fast in China to put pressure on the supply situation and keep it on. This is not happening and I am able to form a solid defensive line with some fall back positions. Again, we think this is indicative of aims elsewhere.

We have agreed that India is going to be there main goal. It looks like the will lock up Darwin and possibly look to take Perth as well.. Taking Java this fast is a dead give away to their intentions.. but there isn't much we can do to stop that... Intel also showed their units prepping for Darwin. They haven't pushed hard past Rabaul.. so it doesn't look like they want to protect their flank that bad.. YET at least...

I am keeping the Saratoga Taskforce (full of fuel now) around Loganville/Efate to catch any forward amphibious assault that is unescorted... must stay out of Betty range..

Lady Lex and Enterprise will refuel at Towsnville...then I am not sure...Need to have a long term goal in mind for using the carriers.. Harvey mentioned they know we are lurking.... and Lex was detected by a sub at Suva.... some Dauntless showed up as spotted following some Jap ships I remember seeing.. maybe a sub...so they do know where our carriers are.. but we aren't sure where we want to show them in full....We will strike when the right opportunity presents itself..

Saratoga has Wildcats..

Lady Lex and Enterprise.. one does and the other doesnt.. I think.. Need to upgrade to them as soon as the pools have enough...

I was dissapointed with the results... I was hoping 2CAs, 2CLs, and 4 DDs would swarm 2 BBs and an escorting DD.. but I guess not.. Hartwig mentioned the taskforce leader was no pushover...the majority of the hits on the Mutsu and Yamashiro were from DD... whoopi!
