I think John is right!  I've never had a laptop and I have two sons (and one daughter)!  I've long suspected that I was pretty studly and virile, but this confirms it!

Hey CR, what are you doing here? I'm reading an AAR that has you in a carrier fight on December 8th! This is not like you at all. I always thought you kept your carriers frozen in carbonite until about 1943? and someone else having an AAR before you? Have you lost your words?

My opponent is very erratic.  He sends the combat replay file, but not the turn file.  So I get half an idea of what's going on, but then have to wait for hours to get the full picture.  In the meantime, I just relax and chill, because I'm that kinda guy.  On the other hand, I get the feeling that my opponent is one of those Swedish guys that waits for the temperature to finally break 65 degrees for the first time (usually around August 7) and then wears a Speedo to a rocky beach on the Baltic Coast while dreaming of Jamaica, Barbados or Aruba.

It does drive him nuts, but I think it's tolerable, due to the friends he's made. I made the drive out there twice last year and I found the scenery relaxing.

Last time I did come back via Hwy 2 by GF. I went by just as a Predator UAV was taking off over the highway. Neat. I had my physical done at GFAFB way back when. I never knew what the base looked like, due to the fog the entire time I was there.

Too bad KI Sawyer still isn't around. It would have been a shorter trip.

A while back I did read about a theory that there are some factors that might produce more female children than male, but the difference is with the mothers. Apparently some women's system are hostile to male fetuses. The article said that there are more male children than female conceived, but something like 70 or 80% of miscarriages are male. So the birthrate ends up being very close to 50/50.

So if you have more daughters than sons, it's probably due to the mother rather than anything you did.

Nah. You're overlooking the most important sex determinant in humans. The heterozygous (well, it's heterozygous ~50% of the time) sex gene (either a "Y" or "X") is invariably donated by the male sperm. Whichsoever sperm wins the fertility lottery will determine the baby sex by it's donation of chromosomal identity to the embryo.

In terms of raw numbers, men (or their 'contribution' to the fertility process) have more to do with the sex of offspring than females. Henry VIII has nobody to blame but himself and the vagaries of dumb luck. Sure, there may be the odd miscarriage to change the numbers a bit, but it's still mostly male contributions.
