I suggested to FatR he needs to play to win..we started talking about russian rules then i realized I am causing problems.

I like the no rules game we have had. Let us stick to our original no rules game. Within a no rules game context redo your turn and have fun crushing a surprised russia(my complaining about an impending jap attack is a violation of our no rules agreement as I am trying to create rules).

I do think at end of game we will have a real after action review and this will be part of the discussion moving forward. I am lucky to have FatR as a gaming partner. He is raising my skill level.

With this look a victory point I suspect FatR is tempted to try to invade USSR and pick up 10000vps for a 44 auto victory. I would bet if he can form a pocket at Vladivostok he might get what he wants.

I had to reset tracker for 2 day turns so I dont have any history yet. I thought I had the VP situation under control but now I am not sure w/ the increasing threat of action in the far north.

Stanislav did not redo his turn. Looks like he cancelled his invasion of USSR.

So I reviewed the russian setup. I found I was able to transfer out some planes from the vladavostock area and did so to avoid a 1st turn strike. I reset all land units to combat. The big problem is I dont have enough supply at Vlad. So I turned on the resupply from USSR to max out Vlad. should get to max in about 2 weeks. If FatR attacks in the next 2/3 turns I cold have a real supply problem. I can see the IJA intentions by the unit location mass.
Another problem is I have failed to upgrade my infantry to 43 class infantry. This could be a problem also(8000av 1943inf saved).

In other news, the haabiki was sunk by a PT torpedo. A Jap DD flotilla bombarded Normanby island after I dropped a half strength tank battalion on the island. Engagement occurred in 0 moonlight. I dont like to fight surface engagements in 0 moonlight unless I have PTs in shallow water.

Then my day one airstrike arrived as ordered. Not much resistance as the armor cleared the area. But on day 2 the bombers switched targets and went into lae without orders as normanby island had fallen to the allies.
