DaBabesLite for PBEM

Post by Justus2 »

I am still deeply involved in the Struggle Against Japan's AI ;) but learning, and looking forward to making the leap to a PBEM at some point in the future. I wanted some thoughts on whether I should continue to practice with the 'stock' GC, or move to DaBabesLite, for PBEM? From the website, it sounds like it fixes some issues (ASW, AA) but doesn't make dramatic changes to the OOB, is that correct? From the opponents wanted forum, it seems a mix of stock and DBB games are starting, but not sure if I am ready for all the new stuff in DBB, so I wanted to start out with the Lite version - are there many PBEMs using it?

I can't comment on DABIGBABES but have been using BABESLITE and I will never go back to stock. The guys have dealt with so many "issues" I had with stock that it is just so much better.

If you go with Babes, I would suggest to use the extended map.

I use Big Babes, and it's just got more and more refinements in unit configuration. Recommend going right with Big babes. But if you don't then as CT says use Babes Light.

How well does the AI deal with BigBabes? I am still learning, so I want a gradual transition before I dive into PBEM. (I saw the other thread about AI and extended map, sounds like it can handle that without too much trouble).

Where can I look to find out about the said issues, and where is there a summation of what Babes has changed?
And whats the extended map??[&:]

Hard to believe you have been around since 2008 and aren't aware of the issues castor Troy mentions.
and where is there a summation of what Babes has changed?
Go to the website, and begin at page-1 and read what appears ..(it's in English but I made it as simple as possible because a lot of people don't have a good command of the language).. you will learn much.
And whats the extended map??[&:]
Go to the website and read section 7, Map and Art Data and the underlying pages.
