I stand corrected, Michael Caine did not play Horrocks of 30th Corps. [:)]

But he did say, "start the lavender!"*

I was at a steak house in San Diego and some chubby guy that looked like Mario from the video game tried to come on to Stalker Girl by having his friends introduce him as "Ron Jeremy".

You should have pointed to his friends and indicated that you were pleased to meet Luigi and the ape (gesturing at one of them) too. And then asked to see his bag of gold goins. On second thought, that would have gotten you a lot closer to fisticuffs...

hehe.....all this MG talk is making me want to fire up a game. Before getting addicted to this monster I spent a couple of years hooked on the tactical series that is now known as Command Ops (you'll find it further up on the forum list here) starting with the MG installment. I ended up getting my name added to the beta tester list (closed beta) for the Battles from the Bulge installment. In fact the only AAR I have ever done on these forums is still stickied at the top of the AAR list on that forum. I probably have a half dozen different MG board games published in the 70s and 80s.

At the dawn of the transistor, Matrix had Battlefields in development. The Market Garden map was cool. 1 km hexes. Company level. Not sure what happened. Somebody was kidnapped by the Gypsies I think. Counters were nice too but you can't really tell from the JPG conversion.

Hadn't seen that one. I have played a couple of MMPs games though. Played the Tunisia and the East Front games with some old buddies a few years ago. My 200+ board game collection that I started amassing in the mid 70s mostly collects dust now......(sigh).

"Sparks" McElroy: Message from Adm. Somerville, sir.

LCDR Specht: Read it.

"Sparks" McElroy: It reads, "Commander TF 308. You are ordered to conduct mine sweeping operations in Assembly Area Nairobi after sunset. If enemy coastal guns encountered in Darwin environs you are ordered to destroy them. End message".

LCDR Specht: Destroy them? It actually says that?

"Sparks" McElroy: Afraid so, sir.

LCDR Specht: This is why I didn't want to be assigned to a 1 VP vessel. We are "fungible", "Sparks".

"Sparks" McElroy: Fungible, sir? That sounds bad.

LCDR Specht: It is. Even a 40 year old, 10 Kt rust bucket with a Fillipino crew is worth 2 or 2 times what we are. Say, "Sparks", what is your real name?

"Sparks" McElroy: Sparks, sir.

LCDR Specht: No kidding? Never met anyone with that name. Why the quotation marks, then?

"Sparks" McElroy: My parents were hippies, sir.

LCDR Specht: Did you say hippies...........

So Pocahantas Gril calls Stalker Gril for advice. It seems Pocahantas Gril got cited for no seat belt.

So she gets cited and calls up Stalker Girl to see if I will sign it, the Pediatrician. [8|] I advised SG to tell PG to ask her plastic surgeon. I saw her while I was walking the dogs and pretended to look down at the trail so I wouldn't get stuck in a "curbside consult".

Yesterday, the Tata Bonus did not work.

I presume you explained to SG that ethically there was no way you could provide PG with a medical excuse without first performing a detailed physical exam of the involved anatomy? [8D]

What paragons of virtue you physicians are. What upright citizens, conscientious professionals and monolithic stewards of public faith. You stand erect at the pinnacle of society for your stalwart sacrifice.

Huh-huh...huh....huh.....he thaid "erect".....huh-huh...huh....huh.

Just ask for the "twilight sleep". Just make sure it isn't Michael Jackson's doc out on work parole.

Wouldnt that cause you to dream of glittery vampires? *shudder*

Continuity error! Continuity error! Alert! Alert!

Clones of MacArthur, 100's of Tojos in mid 1942, Tannanese women working as bar girls in Perth and you are worried about a few anachronistic hippies?

You do realize this is 1942(c). Continuity has become "unstuck". We can make up any **** we want.

As a matter of fact, just to spite you I think we will pad LYB losses in the upcoming battle. [:'(]

We have two 6350 ton AE's headed for Gove (which is still a level 0 "port"). Are we going to be able to rearm the 16 inch guns of Washington and Indiana there?

I think somebody answered this in the more general sense but I was drinking at the time and can't remember.

Actually, I just started drinking again so you had better wait till the morning California time...or you could wait about 8 hrs and tell Admiral Lord Sprior. He can be reached at Kandy House, Ceylon. Try to get to him before he starts up on the champagne or Bloody Marys. Happy Christams Eve to all, especially the crew of YMS-101. God bless them all, especially the taffy commander, even if he is somewhat cynical.
