EXTERNAL DRIVE INSTALL ?

Post by Hellfirejet »

Hi folks,I have 2 versions of the game installed, one on the C:Drive as normal, and one on an external drive lettered L:I have a problem the editor only lets me select the C drive, while the game I'm trying to edit is installed on the L drive,is there a way to change this?

Er, the external drive IS attached, right? Then just select the L-drive.

I would select the External drive but I can't there is only one option the C drive. This is the editor that is installed on the External drive I'm trying to open,I can select and alter the art files,by changing the browse settings, but I can't alter the devices they still point to the C drive only!

Which editor are you loading? Is it the one installed on the C: drive or the one installed on the external drive? Don't quote me, but I think the way that the editor assoicated with its home files is based on what drive you load the program and the Matrix installer does the configuring of the editor. So if you have a program loaded on to the C drive and attempt to use the editor on the external it won't find the external and vice versa. Also, did you copy and past the program from C to the external? If so then it might not work and you will have to try delete off the external and install a clean copy on your external if you want to use the external.

Hi I did a clean install to the External drive, and it's the External editor I'm trying to open within the game files, but it only shows up as drive C as per the above photo.

Strange. I can see all partitions (and access files on them). I have also copied editor exe file onto another partition, and it works fine (just without background screen), and also shows all partitions.

Next best thing I could suggest would be to transfer this to the tech support portion of the forum for further answers
