How are we going to do this J2D?

Two gamers both used to fighting from the Soviet side...[:D]

In this case, I could care less what side I get. Or what scenario we play. It will be fun just to game with you again.

So, pick your poison. Take whichever scenario you want and which side you want and we will do a PBEM with it.

Do you want to do a DAR with it was well? One thread from each of our viewpoints? I trust you long ago and far away enough to have a thread with my comments in it and not worry about if you will look in it until after the game is over.

Or do you just want to play a PBEM between us and not do the AAR until the game is over? I'm good to go either way.

They are the Spartans at Norderfurt threads. Those following my actions will look at the one that starts with MR and those wishing to follow how J2D does will look at the thread that starts with his nickname.

Since you were trained in doctrine of the USA and USSR, it would be better that I take the US or other NATO side. Since I have no clue what I am doing this will be a total surprise to you and your Commie friends.

I'll take a look see and post back here. I renamed the folders to paul and steve in my dropbox folder. I'll place your pbm file in steve.

Doing a DAR will be good. Maybe get some interest in this game again.

I had to restart before I did my setup and didn't catch that the settings went back to default. I was going to give both sides stealth move by default and increase the EW.

Reset whatever you need to. I want this game to be as comfortable with your game style as possible.

It will be fun using the Soviet battle tactics to see how they work in the game vs a human player.

Where will I put the PBEM file when I get it?

Put the pbm file from the steve folder into your Saved folder in the game. Put the file that you create when your turn is over in the paul folder.

No I didn't think you could change them once it is started. We can go as it is or?

If you want to go with what you have I have my setup and orders in your DB. If you want to reset it we can do that. It will only take a moment to redo my setup.

I can't figure out how to load the file that you sent.

I think we are going to have to number them somehow.

Not sure either. It never asked me to do anything. I just hit proceed and it created that file that had a lock on it in my folder.

Otherwise I think it just overwrites the file you have....

What happens if you take the PBEM file out of your directory that you sent me and then put the one I sent you in there?

Will that work?

I figured it out. There is not a selection in the first screen for resume PBEM. I chose start pbem and then there is no resume choice. You have to select Computer Opponent, then Select Scenario, and then it shows a tab for Resume PBEM.

Yes the next file is in your steve folder.

So the PBEM file never changes name.

I really don't like that. If one messes up they are all the same name and you have no idea where to go back to find the one that may work.

ROFL...maybe I've been doing games from the dev/beta tester side of games too long.....afraid to lose the files.

Yes I think once you start the game and name the file, it stays the same name. Having two folders may help in an emergency as one of the old files will still be around.
