I need info on this game.

This exciting new release is a faithful adaptation of the renowned Conflict of Heroes board game that won the Origins Historical Game of the Year, Charles Roberts Wargame of the Year and the James F. Dunnigan Design Elegance Award, as well as many others!

Designed and developed in cooperation with Uwe Eickert, the original designer of Conflict of Heroes, and Western Civlization Software, the award-winning computer wargame studio, no effort has been spared to bring the outstanding Conflict of Heroes gameplay to the computer. Conflict of Heroes includes an AI opponent as well as full multiplayer support with an integrated forum and game lobby. To remain true to the core gameplay of the board game, the PC version is designed to be fun, fast and easy to play, though hard to master. The game design is also historically accurate and teaches and rewards platoon and company-level combined arms tactics without overwhelming the player with rules.

I need info on this game.

Last week I asked about a demo and got no response. Could someone tell me what this game is like? Are there any games it is similar to? If not similar what makes it different? What is the "sizzle" with this game? I'm obviously looking for a reason to buy and would like to try it first but....... Thanks.

Hi GBS,

If you haven't read through the product page yet, please do. Also take a look at the AARs pinned in this forum.

Finally, here are a few fan videos that may help:

In short, it is a very elegant design that is easy to learn but realistic and challenging to master. The game rewards historical tactics but plays quickly and is probably the best combination of accessible and realistic in the tactical board wargame genre.

Regards,

I have a pretty lengthy review. Here is the thread with the link and some users' followup comments.

I haven't played it but the closest I imagine would be Squad Battles, abit more abstract and better looking though.
